Landeskog got away with a dirty and dangerous hit; if that isn't a 5-minute major what is? NHL recognized Landeskog's intent to injure and issued a 2-game Suspension, but the game officials gave Landeskog a slap on the wrist that sends the message loud and clear to players: take lots of cheap shots, they won't cost you much.
NHL Refs are the most inconsistent in pro sports — not just between one official and the next, but between the same official, in the same game, at different times.
I guess they should have a rule like in mma about "downed opponents". Off limits. It's the only way it would get it through the heads of players who, often understandably, play with their blood running hot
Honestly asking to anyone, obviously Dach was in a bad position playing the puck on his knee. But does it change anything that he is playing the puck the whole time? Probably wiser to just play the puck and not the man on the play obviously but I was wondering.
It was a 2 minute penalty but finishing your check on a guy falling on his knee's head first into the boards is embarrassingly considered not good hockey sense. Then giving the other team a power play on a 4 – 2 game potentially putting the game at risk is another bone head aspect. Yep, this would be a dumb and dumber play.
Not ever does that cheap ass play the game the right way. He’s just blessed by playing next to great hockey players he’s a bum should’ve been 5 game suspension not 2….

A dangerous hit, yeah I guess…but my question is….what does Tom Wilson have on the NHL player safety department?
Amateur hit
Such a dirty player…
Great captain, eh?

Did he still have the pick then he can still get hit. Hockey is soft asf
All the time in the world to get up off his knee, dude got fucking wrecked
I miss NBSCN. espn and TNT are going to butcher announcing
that is such a dirty play he should get some kind of suspension
That refs dumb. I hope he calls every hard hit a penalty just to stay consistent.
You mead that’s wasn’t Kadri that laid that hi 🤔
Not my Avs not like this
Anyone else seeing a trend of captains committing uncharacteristic fouls/dirty hits since the season started?
We need more players like landeskog
Oh Come on man. He finished his check. God forbid that happens in todays NHL
So if you're on a knee you're not allowed to get hit? Why not just play the whole game from your knees?
Yes we can all agree it was a bad hit but rule number 1 is never play the puck when you are in a vulnerable position
Every NHL team needs to start getting filthy hits on Landeskog, fuck him up
LANDSESKOG IS MY IDOL
jesus he looked like a crash test dummy in the slow mo
