  1. I remember when it was scoring that was the problem for the Canucks, but because it wasn't the 80s, having Luongo and a stingy defence really helped to keep the team relevant. Now, they have the opposite problem. Unfortunately, again, it's not the 80s. Defence actually matters. We see how quickly a goalie's numbers can descend into 1985 levels when the team defends like they got into a DeLorean. Maybe we should ask Miller specifically if he bought one over the summer.

  2. Hope the canucks go on a huge losing streak. This team needs a top 5 draft pick……..4 years in a row.

  3. Brendan can't handle the cognitive dissonance that this team is actually good but getting terrible goaltending so he blames the defense on "not winning enough battles" lmao bruh it's the goalies

  4. Instead of a goalie, just put up corner targets. Or even tell the opposing teamsto hit the crossbar for a goal. Time to Tank! C'mon man!

  5. You could have the best defense in the league but with AHL calibre goaltending you're still gonna get lit up. If your goalie cant stop easy wrist shots every single game then your just being setup for failure. A soft goal is extremely demoralizing/frustrating. Then if you're playing from behind because of it you start taking more risks leading to more chances against and then snowballs.

The last thing you want is to be so worried about your goalie letting in something soft because then you aren't able to push properly. This team needs old Demko back and in the mean time a better backup. Martin isn't a quality backup, trial run didn't work.

  6. The goalies are not playing up to par. Together with the defence playing the way they have been playing (OEL and Myers are just not getting the job done right now), you can't expect your team to free-wheel and outscore their opponents 8:6 each game… This is not the NHL in the 80s…
