Despite how you feel about Messi, it’s undeniable, that both as a scorer and playmaker, he really is different from any other player in history – contributing at both aspects in a way nobody else has ever done before. A once in a lifetime talent. From struggling earlier in the year to carrying his squad to the World Cup final, Lionel Messi is doing it all and further proving how he is the best player in the world. But unfortunately, he can’t keep doing this forever. Does he have what it takes to push one more and finish with the final trophy he’s missing in his final push to World Cup glory?

  1. We all have to consider ourselves lucky to have witnessed the greatness of Messi. From early season struggles to pushing past his limits and carrying his club and national squad to victory. This is going to be his final World Cup Match. Can he win it all?

  2. Your video sums it up wonderfully, I don't care that much about football anymore, but his performance is unique, it's absolutely impressive to make this comeback at that age and to achieve such a performance.

He's the best footballer there's ever been 😉

  3. I just learnt of one Victor Vasquez who used to play alongside Lionel Messi in the junior team of Barcelona. It's argued he was better than Messi but was unlucky because he had several minor injuries that made him slower and his contract wasn't renewed and that's how he exited to playing in Belgium leagues. From that I just learnt It's not just talent that matters but luck.

  4. Greatest assist goes to Sergio Busquests in 2011. Genius.. doesn't matter how many assist Messi has.

  5. Funny how Messi is past his prime but yet he is still competing with the 20 year olds for being the best player in the world. He is the undisputed greatest player of all time

  6. I didn't get what was the thing Messi did that we haven't seen before apart from his constant high form. Plus where is Pele on your all time assist rank? Just for comparison Pele has slightly less assists than Messi but has HIGHER goal per game ratio and HIGHER assist per game ratio than Messi. Also Pele has 20 goals + assists in WC while Messi has 21 with ALMOST TWICE AS MANY games in WC and UNLIKE Messi Pele didn't need 10 penalties to score his goals. So no…Messi doesn't have the greatest stats neither in assists per game nor in goals per game. Also, Pele STILL holds the records for: MOST assists in WC, most assists in WC FINAL, most assists in 1 WC. And that is with ONLY 14 games. Unlike Messi who has 22 + .Facts
P.S. I Appreciate Messi and I respect him but this overhype around him is getting really annoying. Did he make incredible WC? Yes. Have we seen similar and even GREATER dominance by players before? Yes we have.

  7. Raymar, I appreciate that despite being a huge fan Cristiano Ronaldo, you are able to appreciate and enjoy Messi's amazing talent and accomplishments. This kind of football love which I find is lacking in the toxic footballing community where people take rivalries to seriously and throw hate and insults to different players and teams , even towards legends of the do not escape from this. They take football too seriously at the expense of their humanity. This kind of culture prevalent really spoil the joy of watching the game sometimes and I feel creates an unhealthy environment for footballers to play which can take the ease and joy of playing the sport. So it's nice to witness a true football in you, Raymar.
