Avs absolutely need those defensive players back, they have the fire power just not the defense at the moment. Makar is great, but like McDavid, he can’t do it alone. Glad the Avs kept It exciting though and stayed strong willed.
If the refs would stop screwing them over that would also help.

Avs played 40 minutes of terrible hockey. Same story of defense turnovers and just terrible shot chances always going wide or high. 3 times there was a wide open net and all chances were missed. That said the fire was lit and the game became electric. Lots of hockey lovers who don't follow these teams were watching. It's tide everyone is having fun, and the refs just had to blow it. Like either call the right call or no calls at all. Are we seriously rewarding flopping? Is this soccer? That said Avs need to fix turnovers and desperately need to fix their powerplay

It’s crazy to think both teams can finish in the bottom eleven. Panthers would forgo a chance at Bedard for 30 games of Ben Chairot. On the other hand, imagine the Avs getting a generation talent a year after winning the Cup.

I love both EJ and Girard, but the avs need to move both within the next year. Both have been pretty rough defensively this season.
