  1. We need at least 1 more top 4 d-man that is defensively sound like Samuelsson to pair with Power or Dahlin which will push Jokiharju down to the 3rd pair and as defensive top 4 depth in case someone is injured.

Power and Dahlin can't play 25+ minutes a night every hockey game and continue to perform at a high level over an entire season, it is just not possible, we need another quality d-man to take minutes from them because it is not a recipe for success.

And then we still need a goal-tender, UPL is not the guy, a .891 save percentage with a 3.57 GAA is not going to win us many games… And I'm not even going to go into Comrie because he definitely isn't the guy… Honestly, we're lucky were such a high scoring team cause we would be at the bottom of the NHL if not, not many teams can score more then 3.5 goals a game to get wins…

We don't really need offense anymore, we got plenty of offensive prospects in the pipeline to fill in for Mittelstadt or Olofsson, or Okposo, etc. in future years, were just gonna have to bite the bullet and trade for a top 4 d-man and sign or trade for a goalie to fill in until Levi is ready.

Yes we are going to have to give up 1st round draft picks and good prospects, but we have those, we got extra of those, what we don't have is a top 4 d-man and a legit goalie, and this team isn't going anywhere until those problems are fixed.

Spend the assets, spend the cap space this off-season Kevyn and get what we need, there is no excuse not to make the play-offs next season, and I am not hopeful for this current one because I very much doubt Kevyn pulls the trigger until the off-season.

  2. Drained me so much I fell asleep on the couch 5 minutes into the 3rd.

Maybe itā€™s unfair criticism but I donā€™t like Comrie. I hate getting my hopes up year in and year outā€¦ on and offs as well this year. It is exhausting.

Time to saddle up and string a few together.

    Go Sabres!

  3. UPL has more than earned the starting job. The team plays better with him in net. šŸ‘šŸ‘

  4. Were Quinn and Peterka healthy scratches? I really don't see Asplund and Vinnie as upgrades. The 2nd line has been good at times, only going to get better if they actually play.

  5. Wayne ,teams are starting to play physical vs the Sabres . Until they get couple phisical players itā€™s going to be tough to win . The goalie wasnā€™t very good tonight .

  6. You said it earlier in this season that this was gonna be a Jekyll and Hyde team. I liked the effort but defense and goaltending is still a problem.

  7. Not a happy feeling sitting in my seat at the game learning Quinn and Peterka are healthy scratchesā€¦

  8. I will continue to say it until it happens too late, the Sabres must add Chychrun. You have too many expendable prospects and too much potential on the ice put together already to waste time.

  9. This young Sabres team is how many young people are , up and and low and high rollercoaster behavior. They wonā€™t get better until they decided to mature or get first hand discipline. This is how it is , itā€™s momentum. Ever notice how the Sabres played awful at home during the week this week, when the crowd was half filled? On the weekends, oh dear look out cause then the boys are hyped up! They need to play more consistently over all.

  10. The last 2 games were ughhh. We are missing our chances. A bite snake biten but the 2 goalies stole wins from us. I didn't like JJ & QUINN being benched.

  11. 17 saves out of 21 shots is not good enough. Comries gotta find away. Even on deflections. Find a way

  12. Krakens goalie was far better. We had some bad offsides when we could have had multiple odd man rushes in their zone. Powers was also one I wanna expect more from, I know he will get better but its the obvious ones (giveaways) that get me frustrated. They had a better performance than yesterdays but if April comes and we needed 4 points to get in. This will be where we should have had them.

  13. They watch tape… The formula is simple… Whether it's a pass, a takeaway, transitioning down the ice… before the puck even gets to one of our guys, the other team is there… putting the body on… soft, hard or just impeding progress… they are getting there before the puck… before you know it… our guys are backing off from the opposition… not following through the play… not transitioning down the ice… stretching out with the twig to tap the puck somewhere else other than around themselves so they won't take the hit… every team that is beating us is now doing that… it starts subtle, then increases as the game wears on without it being realized… and then it's too late… fall behind, all they have to do is keep it up, we can't get a good shot because they are on us like stink on… well, you get the picture… hiring a goon or two won't help… every swinging dik on that ice needs to push back, from the first puck drop to the final horn, win or lose… or we'll be getting pushed around the ice all season long… end of game scrums are way too late… already been embarrassed… Go Sabres… Oh, and Eric needs the ice time to develop into a viable net minder to alternate for the Sabres… Again, that's going to take time, goals that maybe shouldn't have been, the D needs to take up the slack to help him out… put a body on the opposition, hard or soft, to disrupt the shot or deflection…. My brain hurts….

  14. If they only focus on offence, they won't make playoffs. Have to be able to play both offence AND defence. It was tied 2-2 going into the third…

  15. SV% 81.8 in this game and some people even dare to defend Comrie. Im sorry but even sick UPL is better than him.

  16. Couldn't find anything for this
season but from seasons past the winning percentage after scoring first was about 67%

  17. I wouldn't sit Peterka and Quinn for long, two games tops. For some reason, with Comrie in net, the loss seemed inevitable. I wouldn't sit UPL for long either…

  18. The good thing is, there's still 1/2 the season left, plenty of points up for grabs yet! The trade deadline is coming up as well. I expect the Sabre's to be involved there. Adams cabinet is stocked to the gills, he has a lot to work with!

  19. Comrie looked rusty as you'd expect, hopefully he'll shape up quickly. I'm not happy with the decision to send UPL to Rochester again even temporarily. Poor guy must dread the phone ringing. This home form is going to undermine an otherwise positive season. Very frustrating indeed.

  20. Seems like the Sabres ride the wave of their offense but when it's not going well, their lack of physicality and grit shows, as well as their heart and determination. There are too many players who coast a bit on this squad.

  21. Adams clearly doesn't want to expose Comrie to waivers, to send him to Rochester, and he knows he can't keep juggling 3 goalies. IMO, this means he must try to trade Comrie by the upcoming deadline. Maybe there's room in the bag for Mittlestadt and Asplund as well…

  22. Hinostrova missed his 25th breakaway in a row since last year! Hinostrova and Asplund zero hits each. Hinostrova has 1 hit on season. Jack Quinn has twice as many hits as Asplund and Hinostrova combinedā€¦seeing Okposo line -2 and get doubled shifted made me sick.
