trading Samorukov and yamo for driedger would be terrible imo, with goalies you never know but if driedger turns into scrivens then fans would go crazy
I'm all for trading both of those assets for a g. I would even add more for the right g. But I honestly think dreigers play in florida was the product of being on a good team.
So Driedger was originally supposed to be the main goalie for Seattle then they signed Grubauer and Driedger was pushed to support, not even 1B but support. Think about what that does for a guy's confidence. You're supposed to be the main goalie then they sign someone who has a better reputation and you're a backup, not even a tandem. Great breakdown as always. I think not including Samorukov would still get the deal done (though the money would be a bit tighter for the Oilers). Take care all.
They need a goalie that is strongly proven in my opinion and has showed their strengths even on a bad team, idk if this is the best choice but they have to make a move on someone.
It’s always a true test for a goalie by putting him on a weak team! Don’t think they need another 2-3 rd goalie. Best bet is Stewart is back up to a true #1 goalie! You definitely overvalued Driedger! Not sure why your always giving away picks. 2 starters for a inconsistent goalie?? You need to think about stealing from some one else not giving picks away! How about Yamamoto for Debrusk, we have plenty of 3-4th line guys to move!
Sweetening the deal and try to get soucy with dreiger would be a more ideal trade for the oilers, the kraken need draft picks and youth, time to throw some draft picks up for a better foundation of defense.
Hmmm…Boy an intriguing deal…I like it but….it is hard to deal with part of our price being take a contract in Smith….just seems like deal that favors Seattle in order to dump Smith in less Dreger becomes a real starter….then how does that affect Skinner…interesting just not sure if it is worth the risk right now, I just do not know enough about Dreger…Smith is a very popular guy in the room…..I dunno seem like a high price for a…somewhat suspect goalie…but I enjoy your thoughts Patrick… 🙂
Interesting thoughts. I’m not sure if the current defence could get Dreigers number to his Florida days. That said I like what I’m seeing with the young defence . Nemo especially .Just want Smith gone as Skinner is being wasted. He has done his time and needs to be up with the team. Keep the vids rolling.
How Patrick I have a idea for some trades that will improve the Edmonton oilers let me know what you think Patrick. I was watching the flyers game yesterday on abc and they were saying that Claude giroux the captain wants to be on a playoff team he is a free agent at the end of the season. What do you think of the Edmonton oilers trading Mike Smith and Tyson Barrie for Claude giroux and martin Jones the goalie. The 2nd trade is for mikko and Josh Archibald to the blues for goalie husso let me know what you think of these trades I think they would help the Edmonton oilers Patrick. Andy.
I think most Oiler fans had Driedger on our offseason wish list but glad that didn't happen as he's been bad this yr and he has a .746 high danger save percentage worst of any goalie that's played this season in Seattle. that's about .100 points lower then you want from your starter as your looking for .850% or better.
I'm a broken record but we need a couple more big defensemen before we need a goalie. All goalies would be weak in front of our D as it is. Trade Nurse and his flopping all over the ice and get a couple more guys like Nemo and we'll strengthen up a great deal!

I wouldn't count him as a 1A and I'd rather trade Yammo for size on the ice, maybe a big defense man who hits. Yammo is pretty good, just small.
Koskinen has been decent recently.
