#Bruins recall Joona Koppanen + Mailbag!

#BostonBruins #Bruins #NHLHockey

The Boston Bruins recalled forward Joona Koppanen and assigned forward Chris Wagner to Providence on Wednesday.

Koppanen, 24, has played in 34 games for the Providence Bruins this season, scoring five goals and 14 assists for 19 points.

Ian McLaren discusses the recall and what it might mean for Thursday’s game against the red hot Seattle Kraken.

Plus, a bunch of great mailbag questions, including deadline plans, David Pastrnak’s extension, the possible need for a new 1C, and the most huggable Bruin.

  1. I still firmly believe Krejci and Bergy will come back for the Bruins Centennial Season. They're far too ingrained in Bruins history to choose to miss out on that. If they didn't want to be a part of it, they wouldn't have come back at all. They don't strike me as the teasing type.

  2. I hope the Bruins learned A LOT from the Red Sox on how NOT to handle players & their upcoming contracts😡 Everyone loves Pasternak, he doesn’t want to leave, & it looks like IF Pasta leaves, it will be due to mismanagement & not the financial numbers🤷🏼‍♀️ He’s honestly not looking for insane $$ & there are ways to draft a contract that will be beneficial for all parties involved (especially bringing in a quality center for him), so the Bruins’ front office needs to lock Pasta down earlier, rather than later. I also agree w/you Ian about Patrick Kane—it’s a hard NO from me, dawg!! The Bruins haven’t yet extricated themselves from the (stupid? Brainless? ____🙄) mistake of signing a complete jerk on a futures contract. Bringing in a locker room cancer like Kane—who’s not only dinged up, but his production is low as a factor of age, injury, & all the negative pressure from the (rightly!) frustrated fans out in Chicago. Plus, Kane won’t play on/will complain loudly to anyone listening (🤨👎🏼) about any third line playing if that’s where he’s needed👎🏼 Good luck on achieving 1k subs—I’ve shared your links w/folks to help increase the #s!🙌🏼💪🏼

  3. Conor Clifton is hands down the most underrated check out his AAV. Personally I’d love to trade Grzelcyk to St Louis for a 1st round draft pick and free up some cap space.
