Despite all the great things we’ve witnessed from Luka Doncic before this season, he’s still managed to set the bar even higher. With the Dallas Mavericks now winning enough games to be near the top of the West, the MVP award is his to lose at this point. Before this recent flamethrower stretch of games for Luka Doncic, he was already having a stellar fifth season in the NBA despite the Dallas Mavericks’ record being average at best. Watching Luka is watching greatness in transit. He’s going to win the MVP award one day, probably multiple times. Now, after his recent scoring outburst, not only has Doncic added to his already-impressive stats, but he’s spearheaded a Mavs team that has the squad currently in reach of a top seed in the Western Conference.

Yes he is the MVP!
MVP=Most Valuable Player. Celtics can survive w/o Tatum, Sixers can win w/o Embiid, Nuggets still has Murray and Gordon if Joikic is out but the Mavs are 0-4 w/o Luka. That alone makes him MVP.

I think its more likely Jokic gets the 3rd, but based on what teams they are working with it makes sense for Luka to be the MVP. Luka has a lot to work on before he is an undeniable MVP, but he is getting there.

The older I get, the less I ever say 'best'. But he is a one of a kind, and that is high praise. He is a one off. Doing things that only he can do. Kareem, Bird, Magic, MJ, Zeke, Hakeem, Chuck, Dirk, Nash, Lebron, KG, Kobe…. They are maestros. They paint the game with their own brush. Talk to an old head, and he'll school you on Dr.J, Moses, Wilt, Pistol, West, The Iceman. I love watching greatness, and Luka is that, for sure.
They need to be 3rd seed for him to be MVP but imo he’s MVP even at 6th seed as long as he stays healthy.

Read the definition and pillars or athleticism and say Luka’s not athletic. It’s not just speed and vertical. It’s a combination of many factors. I’d argue, based of the actual definition, Luka is one of, if not the most athletic player in the NBA.

No, the Mavs didn't let Brunson "walk" as you said. They never had a chance to make an offer this past summer. Brunson chose to leave for more money and never even called Dallas. He bolted, Also, no way is he worth that money. That would have put Mavs way over the salary cap and they'd be close to multiple seasons in Tax hell.
