The Toronto Maple Leafs needed a strong performance from Matt Murray and they got just that as he outdueled Juuse Saros to earn a 2-1 victory over the Nashville Predators. Mike DiStefano and David Morassutti look at how the goaltending continues to turn things around after a tough stretch of games. In their look at the Three Stars, Mike and Dave looked at players who stepped up with Auston Matthews sidelined. Mike and Dave discuss whether the Leafs should consider giving Matthews another night off as they preview their next game against the Detroit Red Wings which is also the Father’s trip for the Leafs. Mike also shares a story from his time at morning skate at Scotiabank Arena.

Please say a prayer for Ringo, the cutest puppy in Timmins that he gets his health back. Thank you! I have been locked on leafs since before I could talk, & my dad was drinking beer & screaming at them through the power of television…..Now I understand why he was such an A-hole…. lol
Murray was fabulous but I find I am always worried about his health.
Load management. Maybe. But when Matthews is out Keefe really leans on Marner. Resting Matthews and playing Marner 24 or 25 minutes a night… I not sure how much managing that is.
Nylander second star. I"m not so sure. Yes he had a great game, but he was also the pylon that Forsberg skated around to score. Now there is lots of blame to go around, Reilly was playing way too high but that play warranted a little more defensive effort than the stick wave.
