I’d love to see Sharangovich playing with Hughes and Mercer.

This is pretty much how everyone feels. He’s being punished for seemingly no reason. He’s playing pretty much the same as last year with less ice time and worse line mates.
Just think back to the countless times Tatar has flubbed the puck and imagine Sharangovich in his spot instead…

I’m not necessarily saying his limited ice time is warranted but nobody seems to want to acknowledge that he had two brutal missed coverages that led to odd man rushes and goals against.
Twice he failed to recognize he was high F and had to cover for the D pinching.

It’s not like the coaching staff has lost faith in him either. He was the first line out during an OT where he prompty lost the puck and the other team scored.
It’s up to him to force the team to play him more by doing better himself.
We have a lot more talent on this team than when he joined us so that’s why he is getting “left behind” a bit usage wise is my best guess.

He doesn’t understand much so I guess that we can add this to the list.
As for Sharangovich, I’d like to see more of him on the PP but I think the reason he’s seen his minutes go down is two fold: his importance on the PK, and the play of his line mates, particularly Jesper Boqvist.
I fully acknowledge that Boqvist had a solid game last night but the guy just doesn’t have it in general. I mean, those were his first points since Black Friday.
With Palat back I’m hoping that we see something like:
If that comes to fruition then I think you could see Sharangovich produce a bit more with more minutes on that type of third line. IF the Devils go out and get a scoring RW to pair with Jack then I think you’d see Mercer move down to that third line role and Sharangovich – Haula – Mercer would be a solid two way line.

He’s missing that competitive edge IMO. Plays a bit too soft and is very streaky. I think he still has potential but time is ticking.
