  1. New management, same decision with our young guys.. there's got to be someone in the higher ups 'molson' with put his stamp

  2. I don't like how they are developing Slaf at all. I think they are flubbing his development just as they did with KK. Neither guys are a McDavid or a Bedard. They both needed more time to develop before being thrown into the big leagues. Just look at all the hits Slaf took and the lack of ice time. He looks worse now than he did before. What was the rush with this kid? At the very least he should have spent 1 year in the minors/AHL and played in the WJC for sure. Just look at how Caufield and Suzuki turned out after having more time to develop while still being kids. Only time will tell but I think management made a huge mistake.

  3. Slafkovsky should have played in the AHL as well. If missed games count they've used his first year towards RFA…he's not excelled enough for near half a season at the NHL level.

  4. My opinion: They should've just let him play in the Junior's. Look, if they're dead set on letting him develop in the NHL, at least send him somewhere where he can get the miles on it. Either more time on the teams' higher lines, or send him to Laval.

As it stands (playing him on the 4th line against Nashville), he could've gotten more ice time and probably boosted his confidence a little during these rough patches. The Habs are not winning, and they aren't really doing anything substantial right now.

Might be one of those hindsight is 20/20 things, but sending him there would've only been a benefit. Regardless if won a medal or eliminated high-end talent.

  5. if slaf played for slovakia, canada would have lost to them.

it also would have meant all six of the first six players the habs drafted in 2022 would have been at the WJC. mesar – svk, beck – can, hutson – usa, rohrer – aut, engstrom – swe. remember these are 18 year olds, where usually the 19 y/o guys are far more prevalent in this tournament.

  6. I believe Slafkovsky would done very well had he been sent to the AHL at the very beginning of the season. Going to the WJC would have done wonders for Slafkovsky. He is being mismanaged by the Canadiens right now and it will ruin his career if this continues. Jesperi Kotkaniemi could have become a decent player but he was mismanaged by not being sent to the AHL in 2018. And, we have another great prospect in Owen Beck, and if he is mismanaged like jesperi kotkaniemi and Slafkovsky, it will cost the Canadiens a decade of success.
When Jeff Gorton fired Ducharme in 2022, he said that he wasn't fired because the team was losing. He said that he was fired "because of the way they were losing". What is the difference between then and now? Am I the only one who believes that MSL is way over his head and he needs an NHL experienced Asst-Coach or Asst Coaches? I get the feeling that everyone is afraid to criticize MSL.

  7. if they weren't going to let him play, he should have been getting top six minutes in montreal. let him go if you're going to send him out there with guys like armia, drouin, and dadonov, none of whom have given even the tiniest amount of effort all year.

  8. I’m so mad bro! They keep him in montreal instead of the WJC for his ‘dEvElOpPeMeNT’. St Louis WHAT THE FUCK ARE YOU DOING MAN! The guy plays with fucking pile ons and gets barely any ice time. Said the bitch to fucking laval or wake the fuck up and do soemthing cause my god you aren’t looking good as a a coach

  9. Maybe K.Dach getting hurt in 2017 World Juniors… reminded the Habs of the danger in lending players out ( not to mention C.Dach injury).

  10. We love you junkie! you're never afraid of speaking your mind and God you make us chuckle. I think Slafs not going to WJC is great FOR HIM because it was a well deserved Christmas break (even though it's just a few days off) the players get to see their family and friends for the holidays, have a little too much turkey and plum brandy or whatever the hell Slovaks drink and most importantly rest, he's already played alot of high level hockey. It's a good break for him.

  11. he played for slovakia at the senior world championship last year and he was the damn mvp of the tournament ofc he would have wiped the ice with these kids

  12. We have a saying: ´´ Everyone is a general after the battle´´.. now is too late. before the WCJ almost everyone agreed to keep him in Montreal so..

  13. I dont get really what montreal is doing, clearly they are out of playoffs no chance so why dont they use this oportunity tu put jurat to uppert 2 lines and let him play or let him go to WJC and let him play there the difference maker.

  14. I believe Habs mgt did some actual damage in this case. CERTAINLY to Slaf. Probably to their organization. And maybe to Slovakia although as a Hab, Slaf has not impressed me at all, honestly. Tho yep he’s very young. So is Bedard and the others.

  15. Perhaps the habs were more interested in contributing to a team Canada victory than what was good for their young player.

  16. It would boost his confidence and wouldn’t affect the habs one bit because it doesn’t matter if they do bad it’s not like he has been a ton of help for the habs

  17. for me as A slovakian to see him not getting minutes after he could help us Beat canadiens on wolrd juniors ch. … It´s time to say farewell to Montreal as a fan I am sorry I can ´t watch this no more… this is such a Scam made on Slovaks fu..
