It has to be the most harmonious goaltender tandem we’ve had in 15 years.

3 games ago every one was freaking out about the goaltending

Toronto has been oddly pretty easy on goalies in recent years I think. Campbell was loved here despite his warts, most people defended Andersen until the very end. I don’t remember Belfour, Cujo or Potvin getting heavy criticism growing up either.

Personally I thought that Andersen was just run into the ground here too often. He was playing 60+ games every year when he probably should have been at around the 40-50 game mark max. Especially given how many chances those Babcock teams have up.

Reimer unfortunately was the one that became the whipping boy after the 4-1 game.

I love the dynamic between these two. Seems like
Murray is really taking Sammy under his wings. Good shit boys keep it up!!!

  5. It’s so funny to see everyone (mostly Sens fans) tripping over themselves to say “I told you so” and gloat after every Murray loss like it’s the beginning of the end for him.

Never was a fan of Andersen. Maybe his first year but i never grew fond of his ‘ it’s not my fault’ attitude. Reimer was too inconsistent to be a starter, imho. But the goalie that took the brunt of fan’s displeasure had to be Raycroft. I’ve never seen anything like it, before or after. It’s a cruel awakening for sure. He had big time guts though.

Both are playing well, but both are also living up to their warning labels. Murray was injured right off the bat, and we’ve seen some streaky play by Samsonov

Like most of Leafs nation, I want our goalies to be successful, but the real test comes in the playoffs. That’s not solely on either goalies’ shoulders, but the spotlight shines bright on them if things go south

  9. I can’t say I’m the most active fan and watch every game, but I’m 40+ and have been following the team via at least close family my entire life. This is the most confident I’ve been in the Leaf goalie tandem that I can remember. Maybe the Potvin days, but that could just be cause he was my fav. By the time Cujo and Eddie made it to the team, they were in the ends of their careers with best years behind them.

With these two, I feel their best years are now.
