I love this account. I will say I don’t think they are cup contenders just yet, but they are moving towards it rather than away.

11 to 30 yeah I think we need to get better at faceoffs

All of these are true imo. As far as being contenders, doesnt mean they’re guaranteed to win but i dont think theres a single team in the league that they just simply arent capable of beating. I think they’re scrappy enough to give anyone a run for their money, even if theyre not quite able to win the series they’re gonna go down swinging.

As far as Hakstol, im almost wondering if he’s gonna Pete Carroll us and turn out to be one of the best decisions the organization could have made at coach after people thought theyd be average perennial first round exits at best.

Vince Dunn has genuinely turned it around, big positive with him being young. I think he has the potential to get even better, especially since his chemistry with Larsson has made them both better players.

Matty is a whole lot better than he’s given credit for. The best all arounder in this rookie class. I think he’s gonna be the face of the franchise in a few years, maybe even the league alongside Mcdavid, Makar, Bedard etc as the older stars retire.

Ive been saying this about Sprong for a minute. What a turnaround. Also, if you’ve never heard his story he has a very interesting path to the league. He was tearing up against 13 year olds at 4 years old. Insane.

Faceoffs are a problem. I wouldn’t complain if they got better in that department. I think once Shane Wright develops more he might be that guy though.

They legitimately have the best offensive depth in the league. Every line can score on you, every forward can score, thats scary for defenses.

    Face-off specialist is a must

We lose almost 70 percent of those which has led to some terrible goals

I think we’re still too streaky to be Cup contenders. To win a Cup you have to be consistently good for two months, and if you have a slump for a week, you go home. I’m damn close to believing, but what I need to see is maybe a game or two up and down between streaks instead of these long peaks and valleys. Make no mistake: the peaks are amazing! But those valleys end your run.

If we can start winning faceoffs consistently I dont think we will ever lose again

  6. I agree with this entire list! Before last night I thought we’d make the playoffs but I didn’t think we were true contenders… but the speed and skill the whole squad showed last night! Sign me up for that cup run!
