GAME RECAP: Penguins vs. Jets (01.13.23) | Kapanen Records 100th Career Assist

After two days off, the Pittsburgh Penguins returned to the ice to take on the Winnipeg Jets at PPG Paints Arena. The Jets jumped out to a 1-0 lead midway through the first period despite a great effort from Dustin Tokarski in the net. Winnipeg seemingly took a 2-0 lead shortly after that but a successful coach’s challenge from the Penguins bench would rule the Jets offsides. Drew O’Connor would later even things up for Pittsburgh off of an assist from Kasperi Kapanen. That assist would mark Kapanen’s 100th of his career. The second period of play was quiet until Winnipeg jumped out to a commanding 3-1 lead after a pair of goals in the last two minutes. Pittsburgh would try to battle back in the third but they couldn’t quite find their offensive game in this one as they fell to Winnipeg, 4-1.

  1. I was at the game and our entire offensive game plan was the send the puck around behind the net and hope someone would be there

  2. As usual – Pens defense was completely derelict of duty , goal tending was lack luster and the offense , which is usually quite good , decided they should take the night off as well. This team was an EMBARRASSMENT tonight !!!!!!!!
