  1. Smart move by the Canucks if they do it. To be fair I think it isn't uncommon for the best dman not to be picked first, but I think Byram is a gem.

  2. We always wanted bowen byram but benning wouldnt pull the trigger on a boeser deal to the avs at the draft for there 2 picks which were byram an newhook …we also had a deal to get chi 3rd overall pick if he took seabrooks contract to take byram then

  3. The only reason I'd be semi okay with this type of trade is that I know in my heart of hearts that there's no way we can afford Makar, Toews, and Byram all together in the end. And while I love Byram… Toews is the better match to have with Makar. Toews is so much better than a lot of people outside realize. So my fear is that we will eventually lose Byram out of sheer inability to afford him under the cap along with our other two world class defensemen.

  4. So take a young guy that has concussion issues .. Sound familiar Vancouver Canucks fans ..hmmm And yet another on the long list of LTR..For our most talented guy on our team ..Is Jim Benning running this ship ..Rumors Rumors that's all the analysts have to do or the podcasters running around talking about things cuz they really don't have nothing to talk about

  5. I would not mind one for one, it may take a year for Byram to get back to full healht, but the potentiel is so great, we had Timmin who had a similar problem it took almost two years but he came back very good, it a time question The Avalanche need someone now , but can the Canuck wait a year to get a goldmine

  6. Bo Byram is out with concussion issues. The Avs won't trade Byram. Right now bo is barely skating, he might not play till next season.
Maybe if Sakic is interested in Miller a 2022 third round pick and MacDonald. GM'S need to be careful when Sakic calls.

  7. left hand right hand side argument does hold water. OEL log jams the whole left side. you cant trade hughes he is too good. and so what are going to do put byram on the thrid line? have him play the right side. Plus you going to sell rathbone low when we all know he is a top four stud. it just doesnt make sense. i wish it did i agree with your assessment of the player but i bet you this deal never happens. Because it makes no sense

  8. If the Leafs got Byram he'd become that actual #1 they need and allow Rielly to be the passing #2 he is. But no chance.

  9. No way rangers trade Schneider he is untouchable same with Jones and Miller. No way the Rangers could top that offer but seems the ask is going down everyday the Not exactly Jacob Chukrin value either or Jake Echel either let them trade who is one hit from calling it a career Lindquest and Cheytl is a better package than a guy one hit away from calling it a career

  10. The concussion issues are a legitimate risk. May struggle to have an NHL career at all. Not sure it's worth JT for that… despite how good he can potentially be if fit.

  11. No way the Avs should do this, Byram is Makar 2.0 could you imagine them as a pairing?!?

  12. Concussion issues? This kid looked so good. He quarterbacks the play. Could be a superstar in the making. Yet would his issues shorten his career? Interesting. Would not play till next season. So would have to get another player in the package. Still pretty risky.

  13. I can't see it. Canucks would want more than just Byram and Avs probably wouldn't give him up one for one.

  14. Myers sucks up all the cap space You want to bring in players you need room to sign them. Get rid of the lemons like Myers Pearson Dickenson and oel at 8mill. All the trade talk is silly. Trading jt is only going to save 5 mill and you won't find a better free agent for less to fill his spot.

  15. I think it will be a steal for both teams. If Avs got Miller, it will up the arm race in the west and for Canucks to have an NHL superstar with 2 to 5 yrs when health. If I were Sakic, I'll try to sell Girard first, a talented, ready defense that locked in for 4 plus years. Avs are loaded with a strong defense cord for the next couple of yrs. Byram, if health can help Avs a have good playoff push with Miller in line. With Miller, the Avs can sprinkle 3 decent lines, something that they're lacking or 2 #1 lines for the playoffs, and adding Miller may address a very key piece needed in playoff, faceoffs. As for Girard Avs need to make sure they have additional money to sign McKinnon in couple yrs, having a good product on the ice, McKinnon will be far willing to give the Avs more of a bargain deal, also Miller another year will offer protection for when they're unable to sign Kadri

  16. No to this trade, Miller's not fast enough to keep up with this team, Byram will be elite in the future if healthly, rather go after Giroux and give up less

  17. im sorry lego your going to have egg all over your face trading jt miller in every video….hes going to single handedly drive us into the playoffs vs the flames and win a round or two. as you get older and watched this team 40 yrs you realize a great season is making the playoffs and a round or two.

  18. A young player already with multiple concussions is one head shot away from being done for his career; Miller, on the other hand, is as steady and as consistent as you can get. In spite of all the potentials, I would not pull the trigger if I am the Canucks brass.

  19. Good breakdown of this rumor. I can totally see something like this happening for the reasons mentioned , plus there is a lot of pressure on the Avs and Joe to make a dent in the playoffs THIS YEAR. If you have an elite , young D-man like Bo on the sidelines not being able to help…..I think if Joe can trade him for someone that will help now, he will at least consider it . I am an Avs fan and Bo knows hockey. What a talent this kid is , but like so many have mentioned , his noggin is an issue. To be as young as he is and have a concussion problem is a bog issue. His upside is huge. He is back skating but no timetable on contact or returning .I would assume his year is over but a deep playoff run might see him back. JT Miller on the other hand is only 28, has a year left on his contract and is on a tear this year . This guy can do it all it seems . Would look good in an Avs Jersey to help this team go to that next level. Personally I would like Girard gone. He makes a nice pass every now and then and pots the odd goal. Good skater . But just awful in his own zone. I think by March 22 we will have seen Joe do something ……but what that is who knows . As long as He doesn't trade Newhook or O'Connor I am ok! lol

  20. Mark Giordano to Vancouver , he will make a difference . A 1 goal a game difference !! plus or Minus .. Give him a -2 year contract

  21. At this point of time, Colorado is very tight to the Cap, a Miller trade would have to come with Vancouver taking on some cap hit, Byram isn't costing the Avs much atm, Colorado could not take on the cap hit Miller brings with him unless there was some budget tinkering. It could be a summer deal, but not a right now deal. Avs are going to need to look into resigning some players in off season like Val Nichushkin and Kadri if at all possible. Basically any team looking at Colorado as a trade partner needs to think about the Avs Cap space. Colorado sits at 2.9 Mill in Cap Space, Miller has a Cap hit of 5.25 Mill, Byram has a Cap hit at 894K.

  22. As an Avs fan I hate to see them give up on Bowen, but long term can you keep all of your super stats signed. Also, you only have a small window to win a cup. I say go all in with trades if the price is right. Especially if Bowen is done for the year.

  23. No thank Vancouver
We like our young core on defense

Joe Sakic don’t make stupid trade just to make trade.

We trade for T J Millet for a bag of chip and 5 cases of Coors lights .
