Zegras is actually sitting right on his point pace from last year. It’s just that no one on Anaheim is even making the slightest effort to play good hockey this year. They have Bedard on their brains.

What am I suppose to take away from this?

Horrible stats to use when only providing that as data. GA GF Corsi those are TEAM affected stats not representation of 1 out of the ten players on the ice. What about zone starts, teammates, team style, who they are against, on and on …
Cool trick, do skinner under Krueger and on 4th line and this season… Crazy looks like that is worthless.. in fact you can probably do that with most sabres under Krueger.. how about Hall with sabres compared to last year

Mittelstadt has been much better this year. He fore checks he gets involved in battles and his passing is crisp and on tape. Much of his numbers are more a product of his situation. I’m not saying he is the pick we had hoped for when drafted or that he is great but there is something there finally. He will be a solid player on another team I would put good money on that.

Zegras is alot of flash, little substance. Good for a tiktok video, but not an NHL season

Zegras is gonna be fine but I’d be lying if this didn’t make me laugh
Casey’s season is pure empty calorie scoring, glad he’s had some good games lately but I’d love to move on from him this season if possible

Oh good let’s compare two players, one d+5 vs d+3, one who plays against other teams top D vs one who plays against their weakest.

This should let you know exactly how tied to teammates these metrics are. These are the same ones that hated Dahlin when we had no team offense despite individual events tracking him as one of the most prolific playmakers of his position.
On-ice metrics have little to do with individual player evaluation. It evaluates the effectiveness of the situation they’re placed in by their team and coach, which is bound to be awful on Anaheim as it was with us for years.
