Lifelong Caps fan, but can't disagree too much with this video. Last year he looked like he was having fun & again making things happen. Now he's back to the lazy Kuzy, version 2.0 of Semin. I don't think he's a total liability right now, but going forward and aging, you have to wonder how much tread is left on his tire?
The kuznetsov turnover in OT is more orlovs fault. 3 on 3 the d man is supposed to maintain centre ice until the forwards have gotten the puck deep. It’s a possession game. Kuznetsov was trying to take the puck out and get it back to or log at centre ice.
Realistically it's the entire caps team that have been making some unnecessary passes especially in their own zone to try and make sure they exit the zone with possession. I don't necessarily have an issue with Kuznetsov trying to make some slick moves and difficult passes that lead to turnovers sometimes, but I do have an issue with him taking those penalties. Eller has been pretty good for the caps this year. Just a really bad collapse at the end of the game due to attempting to make an extra pass to try and exit the zone with the puck.
Good catch on high stick to goalies head. But should have been obvious to officials. Goalie's mask fell off right after. They had to have seen it, guess they thought just a playful tap
I liked Kuzy but he hasn’t done much this season and he took forever to even score one goal. He’s done stupid lazy passes and penalties as stated in the other comments. No one is untouchable . If you don’t want to play. Let it be known. Look at Oshie and his constant attacking and effort
That was just Giroux being Giroux. Not really the Caps fault. Giroux clearly knocked that forward on purpose and took the puck. It wasn't bad play by the Caps. It was good play by Giroux.
