What if we just played like that all the time?

  2. jsweezy989

If we could play 3 full periods for once we might actually be able to do something this season

  3. TheCuriousWanderer

That certainly was a game in the NHL

  4. jackstalke

Obviously can’t win playing just one good period of hockey.

  5. jaredsurreddit

Why couldn’t the first two periods be like the third?

  6. danakinskyrocker

If losing by one goal after mounting an impressive comeback were wins, we’d be doing a lot more winning

  7. DeadWithMyFriends

Dump and (sometimes) chase down by one with the goalie pulled. Love it. LOVE. IT.

  8. Salamangra

I’ve been watching this team since I was a lad. I’ve seen the worst of the worst during the long years of the rebuild. I’ve been patient and I’m no fair weather fan, so I’ll keep watching.

But I’m tired, boss. I’m real tired.

  9. So close but you can’t wake up 12mins in the third

Needed that effort after the first period #LGRW

  10. jfstompers

I’m glad the guys went down fighting but 15 minutes of hockey doesn’t cut it in this league. Just a must win kind of game and they pissed it away.

  11. ItsSoBig14

We’d be so much better at these furry of goals if we didn’t go down 3/0 and 4/0 early lol

  12. atheistinabiblebelt

I really haven’t been getting frustrated with games this season but I just am with this team, this roster. I never thought they’d win but they are too good to get an early pick but too bad to be fun to watch. It’s just the worst.

  13. Put yourself in a hole. Nice comeback but hard to praise after a garbage first two periods

  14. Ydoesany1doanything

That empty net effort was terrifying. Way too much dumping of the puck.

  15. Wheresthesass

Going against the grain and gonna say that players looking disinterested, unmotivated, etc. isn’t on coaching. That was the excuse last year that the players gave to Yzerman when he fired Blash and co. What’s the excuse this year?

This game should not have come down to a third period comeback against this Columbus team that isn’t trying to win. I can excuse being outplayed; I can’t excuse not showing up to play, and that’s what happened tonight. The Blue Jackets took advantage of a team that wasn’t ready or motivated to play until the third.

  16. Shotokanguy

Nice of them to make one period interesting, but it sure doesn’t make me feel good

  17. TheNation55

It’s like someone calls down to the locker room and says “you can try now” and the entire team completely changes.

  18. oceanic8675

Y’all see that Bunting kicked a dude tonight?? Was he this much of a douche last season?

  19. drinkwineandscrew

Big shutout for Ned in a 1-0 win for the Griffins.

  20. 7secretcrows

3rd period Red Wings are my favorite team.

  21. VenomhawkNL

We’re going to be better than last year but damn it doesn’t really feel like it.

  22. xenonwarrior666

If we played 2 periods we may have won

  23. Mendoza8914

I’m just glad we beat the Leafs. This week was a success in my book.

  24. Problemwoodchuck

I never know what to make of these types of games. If not for Husso this would’ve been a blowout early and I have to give credit for the comeback attempt nearly pulling it off, but snoozing away 2 points to Columbus is a red flag.

  25. HavingFunAlone

I’ve come to really like Larry Murphy. He’s grown a lot as a broadcaster.

  26. TheNation55

Does this game officially make us worse defensively than the roster and staff from last season?

  27. xenonwarrior666

They always struggle after a hard fought game.

  28. Bine_YJY_UX

Just got back from the game. My takeaways are that bertuzzi looked awful, most of the team were 2 steps behind the play until the 3rd, chiarot thinks he’s Orr, berggren looks great sometimes, I can see the criticism on copp now, hronek looked good in general, seider/wallman are great, husso is great, and Larkin should get paid.

  29. nickthegreat101

Perron looked brutal tonight. I wish we played the whole game like how we played the 3rd period

  30. Wrath_Of_Aguirre

If anybody decided to at least keep tabs on Laine in the first two periods we could have won this game.

  31. onbiver9871

When I went to the Stars game earlier today, I didn’t realize I’d actually be attending the Wings game tonight lol.

  32. Savvy_chipmunk

At this point let’s get Bedard and win the cup next year.

  33. sl0whanded27

I liked what I saw from the Bert fabbri Raymond line I wonder if they keep fabbri at centre? Larkin could be able to get Perron and kuby going again. Although Perron looks like he’s fighting through something he doesn’t seem quite right.
