  1. Obv wasn't expecting higher than 30-31 from PIT, but I will critique your rankings of them bc I am a pens fan

    1. Hallander (A)
    2. Poulin (A)

    6. Miletic (C)

    Pick someone else (F)
    Goalies
D'Orio (A+ with that name come on how could he get anything else… Yeah it's an F)
    Larmi (F)
Imo I reserved F's for guys who I think have basically 0 shot at ever getting an NHL game, and you also probably should have tried to incorporate a higher tier than "A", a guy like Poulin should never be in the same universe as guys like Zegras, Newhook, or Byram (also it seems like you generally rank med top 4's as "A's" in which case I will strongly argue than Thrun has done enough to scrap that 4th round label and get that "A" rating… Also Dostal just won goalie of the year in Liiga…) Great video tho, always fun talking (or listening) about the future of the NHL

  2. Someone actually rates the Senators prospects the way I do. Cool video more of these please.

  3. Going to pin this because I'm intrigued. Responded to another comment with this.

One could argue if there's any position worth ranking highly, it's goaltenders. That said, if you average the pool, this is what you get.

    New rating/old rating

    1/1. OTT (4.35/4.23)

    2/3. LA (4.23/3.86)

    3/4. FLA (4.05/3,83)

    4/2. PHI (4/3.96)

    5/T-11. CAR (3.94/3.66)

    T-6/T-6. NYR (3.88/3.76)

    T-6/T-11. NJD (3.88/3.66)

    T-6/13. MTL (3.88/3.46)

    T-9/T-6. MIN (3.82/3.76)

    T-9/T-11. DET (3.82/3.66)

    11/7. COL (3.76/3.73)

    T-12/T-11. EDM (3.64/3.66)

    T-12/T-16. VGS (3.64/3.3)

    T-14/21. VAN (3.58/3.16)

    T-14/17. NSH (3.58/3.23)

    16/14. TOR (3.52/3.43)

    T-17/12. WSH (3.47/3.6)

    T-17/T-16. NYI (3.47/3.3)

    19/T-23. SJ (3.41/3.13)

    T-20/T-20. WPG (3.35/3.2)

    T-20/26. ANA (3.35/2.86)

    T-20/29. CHI (3.35/2.63)

    23/T-20. TB (3.29/3.2)

    24/T-23. BOS (3.17/3.13)

    25/T-20. BUF (3.11/3.2)

    T-26/28. CBJ (3.05/2.7)

    T-26/25. DAL (3.05/2.9)

    T-28/27. STL (2.88/2.73)

    T-28/24. ARZ (2.88/2.96)

    30/31. PIT (2.58/2)

    31/30. CGY (2.52/2.23)

So again, if you don't want as much of an emphasis on goaltending, this is what you would get.

    Biggest Winners

    Chicago (+9)

    Vancouver (+7)

    Montreal (+7)

    Anaheim (+6)

    Carolina (+6)

    New Jersey (+5)

    Biggest Losers

    Washington (-5)

    Buffalo (-5)

    Colorado (-4)

    Arizona (-4)

Is this more accurate? More fair? Perhaps. It's definitely another way to look at it. It all comes back to what I said at the start of the video though. This is for fun. How could it not be? You're assigning an arbitrary letter grade in a situation where it really doesn't belong.

  4. I could be wrong, but I think Parik is pronounced the same way you would pronounce “Paris” if you were speaking French. Czeck is weird.. lots of accents on the letters.

  5. Great job, and a couple things you overlooked on the Flyers. Philippe Myers is already playing in the NHL top 4 and looks like a top pairing quality Dman – big, fast, mobile, talented. I would rank him higher than York, who got an A. You also omitted Myers 2.0, rookie camp Jr UFA signing, Egor Zamula, big mobile Dman who led Russia in TOI/G at the WJC. He should warrant a solid B at least, he's as good a prospect as Myers was at the same age. I know, it's impossible to know every guy – just trying to help. Agree with everything else. Thanks for your hard work.

  6. The Athletic has the ducks pool as 7th best in the NHL… most other editorials have the ducks between 13-10. Dostal won goalie of the year in the European league. How are they ranked 26th ? That doesn’t seem reasonable at all.

  7. Kings forward pool is INSANE. Now add Byfield or Stutzle to that…. woah. They also have 3 second round picks in 2020. Maybe they go with two d-men and one winger? Maybe they package some picks to acquire a second 1st round pick and add another A level blue line prospect? Or they could trade picks/prospects for elite level talent on the blue line. Tons of options. Kings should be scary in a few years.

  8. If Shesterkin is 2 days younger by these metrics the Rangers are 4.1 and move to second. Kind of crazy. Interesting way to rank the players considering Lafrenière will be equal to Lias Andersson and Julien Gauthier. But cool exercise none the less.

  9. I think you need to come up with a different system than the A's and B's. Like Jett Woo and Kole Lind having the same grade as Quinn Hughes just looks ridiculous. Both those guys will be stretches to even become NHL players, let alone all stars like Quinn Hughes already is.

  10. I know this was older but the LA Kings are Number one now for sure! Byfield added to that incredible forward group is insane! Ottawa is one B to LA's one A!
