    as a judoka, i really wanna focus on that little bit at the end. that was 100% meant to be a throw, and it was fckn textbook

    glides to the side away from the striking hand, gets the knees low, gets in close. and boom. quick extension and hip rotation will send a guy flying.

    i also really like the way he catches himself. a lot of guys try to extend their arm to break a fall, but that generally just leads to elbow injuries. he lays the arm flat, gives the ice a good smack, and immediately postures up. good shit xhekaj

    Yet another tough guy gets a black eye from Xhekaj. Our boy is taking this league by storm, and leading rookie defensemen in scoring while doing so (I think there's a really good chance he wins the rookie defensemen scoring race – kid's got 5 goals, and last year, Seider was the rookie d-man leader with 7). Love to see this personification of old-school hockey, and Montreal should fully embrace his abilities since he's likely to become an invaluable part of their core, as they rebuild for the future.

    Xhekaj is a great surprise use, earning his spot from day 1 of training camp. Haven’t seen a tough defenceman for the HABS since Emelin, even though Emelin was more of a rugged body checking defenseman.

    For a guy that wasn't even drafted he has been impressive this year. Hopefully with more experience he can tighten up his defensive game and cut down on the give aways.

    Arber was hitting anyone wearing a yellow jersey in that game. Jeannot felt obliged to defend his team. Xhekaj nearly sent him to the hospital. Jeannot's jaw is aching this morning.
