We played our three best defensive games since Vinnie came up and to think for even a hot second that sending him back down to the minors is a good idea then we've got more problems than just who's on the roster, and who's not! And I would suggest that these last three games, even though two of them were against pretty flabby teams, would suggest that our problem isn't necessarily one of players, but of roster management and time on ice! Woodcroft has slipped into the same patterns and mistakes as Tippett and McClelland before him of penalizing the lower roster players with shit minutes and overusing the top six and no good tan is getting anywhere playing 6 forwards 75% off the time!!
My original math must be wrong (or there are mitigating factors that skew things after the 1/2 way point in the season).
Evander Kane: 5,125,000
Derek Ryan: 1,125,000 (that we get out of his 1.250 I think) Marcus Niemeläinen: 762,500 Calvin Pickard: 762,500 Ryan Murray to LTIR: 750,000 Devon Shore: 850,000 ——————————————————————– Sub-total: 4,250,000 though some is Ryan Murray and when he returns I can only think he's headed down (or Vinny is).
Difference: 875,000 which I think is the EXACT amount we have in our Cap pool (from where, no clue).
So Roster would be: Kane McDavid Yamo Holloway Draisaitl Hyman (who may be 1st line with McDavid swapped for Yamo) Janmark Nuge Kostin Foegelle McLeod Puljujarvi
21 man roster. With Yamo day to day an 11/7 group is what's possible with this configuration unless you send down say Vinny and bring up a cost controlled (Cap minimum) forward.
Tough decision on who to send down out of the 4 players listed. Ryan is the only RC with the Oilers and he can win FO. Sorry to see JP go but I think he needs a fresh start like Kostin. He just can't do it with the Oilers.

Keep Vinny up at all costs. Vinny, Kostin, Kane. This creates everyone else to play bigger. A little more compete and more room for the big guns. That’s the formula this team needs.
The whole reason Derek Ryan ever even makes the team is that he’s a Right shot center with a 50% draw rate. I think the least likely to go down is Janny, because he’s crushing it and then Derek, the rest e.g Foegele etc on your list and the tweet are more likely. Man I’ve said this a few times so man am I going to look dumb insisting but a dude has to stick to his guns or shut the f up 😉

Dude, to be honest I had always skipped over the first 2 minutes of your buddy's videos. 99,% of podcasts on YT spend 2 seconds to ask a viewer to subscribe. Dolynne?? (have no idea how to spell it) spends 2 fricken minutes on self promoting. He's gotta be one of the most annoying guys on YT. His vids are also so unprofessional. Factor in all the sneezing, bad location vids, bad quality, bad logo, pretty much bad everything….the TV part of his channel name stands for "terrible videos" frankly it's shocking how that dude has 10k subs. The fact is DTV (bad channel / brand name also… again about himself) cares more about the subs than his reports. I don't and won't watch him anymore because of the aforementioned. DTV (dreadfully terrible videos)….and that's putting it politely. Keep up the great "professional" work.
I posted this comment on Woodcroft's post game interview against VGK. If Woodcroft, Holland and Manson collectively agreed to send Vinny back to the minors they would officially be the 3 dumbest guys in the NHL.
not appropriate for a Ref to be breaking this type of information. NHL REFS are the WORST !! The first one that needs to go down is Bouchard. Errors & lazy play translate to losses. Certainly Pulju, Yama, Foegel & Shore could all go down with no difference to the outcome. Ryan is helpful/good !!! Desharnais is making a difference ! Your analysis is lacking?
I would keep Vinnie up. Agree Ryan could be put on waivers, the elevated play of Janmark has made him expendable. I would rather see JP put on waivers as his showcasing has gone on long enough. Looking forward to seeing Kane back in with Kosin and Vinnie in the lineup. The toughness is needed. Keep the vids rolling

If Kane returns on Tuesday that will give the oilers another massive boost that they already have, and we should be able to defeat the kraken!
