It’s been six months since the Montreal Canadiens acquired Kirby Dach and the New York Islanders acquired Alexander Romanov. Let’s talk about where we’ve gone since then.

As A Chicago Blackhawks Fan, I like The Trades. Chicago is in A Rebuild, so, They Needed A High Draft Pick, which is What They Got. Chicago is not alone in that. The Islanders got What They Wanted and So Did The Canadiens. Let me know what you think

Trade was made just before the Seattle pick.
it was Romanov, a third, and fourth for Dach
a rare 3 team trade that everyone won, islanders got a solid young defensemen, chicago got a high pick and habs got a great young forward
As a islanders fan I also think it was a win for all teams and from watching romanov i think it was a great move to acquire him he is one of our more consistent guys on defense he does a good job on locking down defense and also has a good hockey iq he is most of the time the first guy back in the defensive end when the other team is on the rush i think if dobson (his main defensive partner) gets more consistent on defense and also starts producing again that defensive line can be one of the best in the league not to mention romanov might put some fear into opponents to watch their back because they can be crushed by him ( as example when he crushed miles wood in the devils game cause wood was trying to be fancy).
Too early too say, for now everyone win but we will see if chicago draft pick become good as expected
Dach has such skill in those hands and what a shot. As a habs fan I'm very happy.
Awful awful trade by the islanders, and any isles fan who think’s differently must not have eyes. Romanov is probably one of the most average/below average defensemen I’ve seen. He’s just plain out “meh.” He’s the definition of the word. He does nothing most of the time, occasionally he blocks a shot or throws a hit, that’s about it. And we gave up a freaking 13th overall pick for that. He’s not even worth a second round pick! We can get a player of his caliber easily by just signing a random defensemen in FA. Lou needs to go.
These trades happened between the 3rd and 4th picks. I know this because I'm a Kraken fan and at the time I thought the team had traded their pick away.
They traded Romanov because of the emergence of Arber Xhakaj. Xhakaj is light years ahead of Romanov in what he brings to a line up. Romanov is good, but not great.
For those who say we should have gotten Dach, we already have 4 solid centers and a fifth is almost finished baking. The real head scratcher is a team that is rebuilding trading away young talent for draft picks,
