Trust the Yzerplan!
Its 2 years for Blashill per Pierre LeBrun.
Wall-E can't wait to watch some Grand Rapids Griffin hockey this season. They could have a outstanding lineup, and a glimpse at the future.
That's the joke of the hour Detroit a hard-working team
And they have a possibility of winning in the near future
I don't I don't I under percent don't see any progress on the team
Same old Clueless Management 🤣🙄
WALLI
It's gonna be really hard to watch Blashill destroy Seider and Raymond just like he did with Larkin, Zadina, and Hronek
William WALL-Einder? Wait… what? Just keep up with the good content, my dude!
Blashill has made the Wings play much better than what they are on paper. I'm not saying he's great but he was able to get the most out of a team that for sure misses the playoffs this season.
I like the re-signing of Blashill. He works hard, loves his job, and cares about his players. W's and L's are not what Yzerman is looking at: it's that the team is competitive every single night.
Two year extension
Were right where we need to be as far as being a contender in the next 5 years. As far as Jeff Blashill goes, he has a competent Gm to work with. I would say that this is Blashills do or die year, if he can manage this teams offense this year, I say keep him for another 2 develop the Young's guys to be two way players and well go from there. He seems to be adjusting to Germans plans well. Aside from my 2 cents…WALL-E!!!!
I trust the Yzerplan. The only reason I think he brought back Blashill is because he wants the team to tank without appearing that they’re tanking because they have a ton of picks in 2022.
'WHY Steve Yzerman Brought back Jeff Blashill'—The answer is really simple. We are not yet a contending team. We are still at least two lottery picks away from being in that conversation and he's the right coach to give us a chance at that #1 pick. I don't hate the guy. I think he would make a great assistant coach in the NHL, which is what I see as his ceiling. As soon as we are ready to contend I could really see Stevie bringing Babcock back. I think Babs has been humbled by his failures in Toronto so I do believe he is the right man for the job given all circumstances.
Wall-E
Yzerman is the best
Some say that Blashill is a Wall-E…to use some English parlance!!! Quite happy with him being resigned, he's actually done a good job with what he's been working with – reflected in the comments by Bernier, Ryan etc. Is he a championship winning coach though… Great news about Wallinder, he's going to seriously benefit from Kronwalls input into his game. He's got a very high ceiling, some scouts rated him the best defender in that draft, more so than Sanderson etc. Big congratulations to Moritz Seider who will be collecting the Calder Memorial Trophy as his next award BTW… and massive respect to Jonatan Berggren for his ELC, well deserved and looking forward to what he brings!!
On June 22, 2018, Bylsma was hired as an assistant coach for the Detroit Red Wings.[16] On May 18, 2021, it was announced that he would not be returning to the Detroit Red Wings
Berggren's coming yeahhhh 😎😎
You can talk about raymond coming to NA for the wings or griffins.
Trust the Yzerplan. Wall E.
Blashill is very similar in personality to Jon Cooper and best friends. So Yzerman is deciding not to rock the boat with a new coach. But the origins of this team's demise rest with the poor drafting by Holland and Tyler Wright (especially after the first round) that put the kabosh on the roster for years. Yzerman inherited a roster that was talent thin, especially on defense.
wAll-I
Three words: Bedard, Wright, Michkov
.275 points percentage in 2019-20 to a .429 this season. That is a HUGE improvement. I think that's the main reason Blashill is coming back. But .429 probably won't cut it next season.
Good take but Blashill is a longshot of a coach who will turn Seider into a player like Marc Staal, a big tough Defensive D-Man, rather than what most wings fans would like of Seider, and players like Filip Zadina who has high offensive upside will continue to get worse due to the defensive system Blashill has, and Rasmussen was the only player to get better offensively this year, and when the goalie is pulled, he puts Nielsen, and Filppula out rather than guys like Rasmussen and Veleno, and Veleno got his 1st NHL goal, and the next game he was a healthy scratch, why is that?
I think that Gallant would be a good veteran coach for the red wings for the next 2 years rather than blashill who is making the prospects worse and overall elongating the future of playoff contention of the red wings from 2 years to about 8 or 9 years
At least Jim Benning isn't making the Canucks worse, he is at least still letting his prospects develop and finding the right time to call them up to the NHL.
Oh yeah, and Wall-E
Yezerman is the best gm in all of hockey in my mind
Cuz I sermons not stupid he realizes not just black. Over the time he's been there he's had a legitimate team one time over the last four five years he's had maybe one or two and then she'll caliber players on the ice with a little above average goaltending the last two years than below average none of that is just black. That's the way the team has been built. And Graphics not working fault and not making the right signing that's what Steve Yzerman was bringing here for but he hasn't done anything yet once he gets a good team that's when he'll pull the trigger on a new coat wife bring another coach when you're still two or three years away when they probably bring another coach blues for three seasons and then have to get another new coach
Eva
Lego your losing it
Cheers
they really like playing with each other 🙂
Stevie Y discussed it and said “He’s got a good work ethic and he’s growing with the team.” Dude hasn’t had a really competitive team since taking over. Think people use Blash as a scape goat but there’s only so much a coach can do.
Why not hire Gallant now? Blashill has proven he cannot coach AHL/minor leaguers into NHL players.
Blashhill just needs to go
Its not blash or yzerman that got us to bottom dwellers…it was ken holland handcuffing them with long term garbage contracts(nielsen, dekeyser…too many more to list) in yzerman we trust. Detroit has AHL level talent…the best coach in hockey wouldnt get this team to perform much better than 2 spots in the standings…i would rather take a higher pick than finish 22nd in the league.
Bringing Blashill back was a huge mistake. He brings a losing culture/mindset with him.
2 years is about right actually
So Yzerman is saying well the wings suck so why not have a coach that sucks too?
Now there's calls for Blashill's head. Instability with a developing team can be…. Really bad though so if Yzerman brings someone else in… It better WORK! No pressure!
