GAME RECAP: Penguins vs. Ducks (01.16.23) | Guentzel Nets Overtime Winner

The Anaheim Ducks came into town as the Penguins looked to get back on track after dropping their last two games. Jason Zucker got the scoring started, netting his 11th goal of the season early into the opening period. Anaheim would later even things up thanks to a power-play opportunity. Evgeni Malkin gave the Penguins a 2-1 lead in the second period of play but the Ducks took control in the third, jumping out to a 3-2 advantage with a pair of late goals. Pittsburgh would rally back though. Bryan Rust tied things up with under 30 seconds left on the clock. The Penguins would carry that momentum into the overtime period as Jake Guentzel netted his 18th goal of the season, giving Pittsburgh the 4-3 victory.

  2. This win didn't feel like a win at all and Crosby had a lot to do with it. Why is he do scared to shoot this season? They had 5 on 3 power play and Sid didn't shoot once. For how many games in a row he didn't even try to shoot? Or when he had the puck, didn't shoot, they lost it and ducks scored? Go ahead and stop putting him up on power plays, if he's useless and only has his name to speak for his game. Please tell me why the captain doesn't step up when he sees his team is losing against the worst team in nhl? He just doesn't seem to have it in him anymore 🙁
