I just saw a [nice article](https://nesn.com/2023/01/how-bruins-players-reacted-to-pavel-zachas-contract-extension/) about Zacha’s teammates reaction to hit 4 year extension. I just gotta say, after his years here, it’s nice to see him getting recognition and being able to stand out some.
I follow NESN as I’m a Sox fan (don’t hate, please, I’m a MA native) and I always smile when I see his name in a headline in a Bruins story. Makes me feel like our somewhat invisible boy has stepped out into the world and blossomed or some shit.

My hot take has always been that Zacha would have developed earlier with us if Elias had more crossover time with him. Beyond their national identities, they always felt similar to me. We can all remember Elias had that short stint as our captain. I felt that captaincy experience was an analog to Zacha’s unforgiving formative years here.
Was sad to see him traded but he obviously needed some new scenery. Like you /u/stop_already I will continue to root for him as a player but never ask me to root for Marchand (I know you never would).
