Key Metrics:
NHLeS: Age, league and position adjusted score of production. 20+ is typical 1st round value, but context is important.
INV%: Player points per game divided by team goals per game.
G%: Same as INV%, but goals-only.
IPP: Percentage of goals scored on the ice the player gets a point on.
P1: Any time you see P1, it represents primary points (a goal or primary assist).
ES: Any time you see ES, it represents even strength.
Cat%: The percentage increase or decrease in even strength goals for per 60 minutes of ice time relative to their team. A player on the ice for 4 GF/60 at even strength, on a team that scores 2 without him on the ice has an Off.Cat% of +100%. Likewise, if the player were on the ice for 1 GA/60, and the team allowed 2 without him on the ice, his Def.Cat% would also be +100%.

  1. That was an epic draft from the Sharks, and surprisingly so considering the relative lack of high picks. I had both Carolina's and San Jose's groups as my 1Bs in this year's draft. Much like what Carolina did, San Jose's scouts simply decided to swing as hard as they possibly could on guys that actually produce really well, and I was happy to see that considering that their big club completely tanked this year. Would not be surprised if there's at least 4-5 NHLers out of this group, though even if 2-3 of them make it on the Sharks, say Weisblatt/Robins/Gushchin, I'd call it a successful draft.

  2. Ozzy! The moment they selected him, and his family's reaction, was probably the best thing I've ever seen at a draft.

  3. Heard they drafted Oberg because they wanted to sign him but figured they wouldnt have to compete with other clubs by just using a 7th rounder on him

  4. Curious what your take is on the goalie they signed from the KHL this offseason and if you plan on making videos on some of the other undrafted signings teams have made

  5. Surprisingly out of all the picks from 2020 Raska is the first to make the team.
