Key Metrics:
NHLeS: Age, league and position adjusted score of production. 20+ is typical 1st round value, but context is important.
INV%: Player points per game divided by team goals per game.
G%: Same as INV%, but goals-only.
IPP: Percentage of goals scored on the ice the player gets a point on.
P1: Any time you see P1, it represents primary points (a goal or primary assist).
ES: Any time you see ES, it represents even strength.
Cat%: The percentage increase or decrease in even strength goals for per 60 minutes of ice time relative to their team. A player on the ice for 4 GF/60 at even strength, on a team that scores 2 without him on the ice has an Off.Cat% of +100%. Likewise, if the player were on the ice for 1 GA/60, and the team allowed 2 without him on the ice, his Def.Cat% would also be +100%.

  1. Toronto took some really nice swings in this draft, which they'll need if they truly stick to a "Stars and ELCs" approach to roster building that I'm not particularly keen on, to say the least. I especially like the Finns that they took. Probably my 3rd favorite draft crop overall outside of Minnesota and (my home club) Carolina, with LA and San Jose at 4 and 5, respectively. Honorable mention (and mad respect) to Columbus for just being the gutsiest scouting department in the entire league.

  2. Still no Detroit Redwings yet. Getting hosed in the not real “lottery” too.
    J/K. Like the content series.

  3. How many games have you seen if you have seen and scouted all the players that the Leafs drafted?

  4. Schingoethe is my go to in the 7th round in EHM, nice to see the Leafs keep the tradition going for me.

  5. I wanted the Ducks to take Ovchinnikov. I just knew they were going to take a Russian with their 5th round pick but took Galimov instead. After 11 years, Anaheim finally took a Russian. I also thought Rashevsky should have been drafted.

  6. Great Draft for sure for the leafs seems they scouted well and took intellect and skill over biases like positional need or hometown boys , big tough players etc also with covid stalling north American development going this strategy is very smart
