Bert and Kubs(assuming he goes on a heater)

Suter and Maata (assuming we don’t extend him).

Honestly I’d trade every UFA we possibly can with the exception of Larkin. I’d like to hold on to Walman and Maata.

With how injured Bert has been I’d trade him if the right deal comes along.

    From the article:

The “classic rental” tier – Erne
The “short-term extension candidate or trade chip?” tier – Määttä, Suter, Sundqvist, Oesterle
The Tyler Bertuzzi tier – you guessed it
The “sell high with term, or hang onto?” tier – Hronek, Kubalik, Perron
The “nuclear option” tier – Larkin

Based on some of these names and Max’s comments I’m not sure how quality these picks we receive in return will be. But definitely need as many darts as we can throw at the board.

I think our bigger opportunity is bringing on bad contracts with our cap space and how little space a lot of teams have. If we ship out someone like Bert we get a lot more space to work with. But I think we’ll be cautious of any bad contracts with a lot of remaining term with our upcoming signings.

You start talking extensions now and sell anyone who’s not under contract come March 1st. That includes Larkin and Walman. That said, I hope they both come to an agreement beforehand.

It’s a very strong draft, so the more picks, the better. Hopefully, this is our last year of selling pending UFA talent.

I’m probably in the minority here but I’m for trading Hronek, his value is the highest it’s been since pre Seider. Without looking at analytics to back this up his play has cooled off playing without Maatta. Though I have a feeling this trade deadline will be quiet for the Wings, keep the band together without big changes for the first time in awhile and let them figure things out.

I’d love to see Bert moved so we don’t sign him to a big, expensive contract

This isn’t directly related to who we should get rid of, but I feel like Puljujarvi might be someone we should look at. Yzerman hasn’t been afraid to take shots on players who aren’t particularly panning out and despite his lack of production, he’s a very talented player with a higher ceiling than it is right now.

I think we could move a bunch but who knows. Sunny Perron Erne Suter Maata would be my best bets to be moved though.

A lot of people think Bert will get paid no matter where he goes, but I’m wondering if his injuries decreased his value would that allow us to keep him for cheap?

  11. buddycheesus

Walman has barely played a hundred games in the nhl. 26. UFA…. I say keep him. He’s only making a mill too so we should be able to reach a deal imo

  12. PineconeNugget

I like to imagine bertuzzi for horvat 1 for 1. What’s your not going to happen trade idea?

  13. Sell Everything except Seider, Raymond, Berggren, and any of our GR/Juniors prospects.

  14. If it’s true Larkin firm on 9+ per year. Then he should be moved.

I love Larkin but he just isn’t a 9m per year guy and I would rather stay the course than to overpay because we’re stuck.

  15. ChucklesLeClown

Erne, Sunny, Suter, Perron, Maata, Zadina, Kubalik, Bert & Hronek(if the price is right for both). In that order.

I want to see any fat trimmed. So I think Ned is moved, wings retaining 50% salary. Vrana is stuck in GR and so is his salary. I don’t remember who else’s contract is up but… I wanted Bert traded before he became too injured riddled, oops too late. I see Perron moving just because he’d help any contender. I want to keep Kubs but I think he might draw a lot of interest. And don’t ask me how but Y somehow trades Chariot.

  17. Twtkpo23

Personally I’m fond of Larkin, kubs and sunny. Think the rest could go. GR is a dumpster fire, let’s clear out roster spots for young players. Ned and vrana included. Veleno and zadina are young enough and cheap enough to give another yr to prove it. Give copp and Perron the option to go to cup contenders. Stack up the picks and prospects. If somebody offers 1st and high end prospect for Larkin, have to consider it.

  18. To everyone saying sell everyone – then we’re in the exact same position as last offseason. We need vets on this team, can’t just have Larkin (he’s not going anywhere) and a bunch of kids.

  19. momarketeer

Yzerman could trade anyone and I’d support it. Seider is the only untouchable followed by Raymond.

    Yzerplan stops for no one.

Larkin needs to me 2C on a top 8 team imo. Larkin is a crucial piece for us, but he needs others who are producing higher for him to shine. It’s going to be a few years until we get that, and I think his value is then wasted by being here. Love the guy, but I feel like he’s slowly getting demoralized with our current roster.
