Out of sheer curiosity, if the NHL is promoting equality, hockey for everyone, then why is it such an issue that Provorov expressed his views and followed them? Is it only for certain groups that hockey is equal? Or are there different standards?

I am very supportive of the LGBTQ+ community. But I believe people need to leave Proporov alone. His personal beliefs have nothing to do with the sport. If he is doing something illegal based on his beliefs, then send him to jail. If he never brings them up and gets shamed because he was being forced to open up about it, I think that’s wrong.
Like I said, I support the community. But I think hockey player beliefs should not be advertised and made public like this. Instead of making jerseys and forcing people to believe in something, the organization should just take the money and donate it to a LGTBQ+ community or charity.

Everyone has a right to say what they want and everyone has a right to not participate in every social movement. It’s not like the guy went out of his way to say he hates gay people. The issue I have is the team allowing him to play. His own coach said he would bench any players who refused to stand during the national anthem. How is this different? It’s a personal conviction for him that ultimately is a distraction for the team. He doesn’t want to support the acceptance of gays in hockey? No problem, but he shouldn’t have been allowed to play in that game as a consequence.

The stupid thing about all of this is the NHL or the Flyers don’t give 2 craps about the pride movement (or any other social movement for that matter). All they see is extra dollars being thrown their way for having a “special night”.
