  1. They have pretty good size and defense tho which is important in playoffs, could use a physical guy or 2 tho but maybe they'll get one and get any ahlers off the team

  2. You make it seem like the devils are a 2 man team. They also have one of the best 2 way forwards in the league in hischier. A top tier defenseman in dougie Hamilton. And palat who just came back from injury that can provide some excellent postseason experience.

  3. Clickbait title. Worked on me, I guess. They’re going to make the playoffs. They just surpassed last year’s point total and they still have 40 games remaining. The Devils are not perfect – no team is – but they have great top forwards, an underrated defense, are getting depth scoring, and have decent goaltending. That’s what they needed, decent goaltending. They came out of their losing spell and are beating division rivals. I’m not saying they’re cup contenders quite yet, but they’re certainly not “screwed.” A great young team coming out of a rebuild and opening their window of contention.

  4. Definitely of the opinion this was a clickbait title with how they're playing. And I'm someone who would say that no matter what team I cheer for. I agree that all it takes is one injury to detail things, but the same can be said about any team, not just the Devils. We will just have to see how things go.

  5. The devils cleaned up their roster from last year, adding Marino and haula, swapping out Zacha and Ty Smith. Goalies have played well compared to not having any goalies last year. Tatar and dougie are playing much better, too. I think they might get bullied in the playoffs, but I think they could put up a fight. Put some respect on Hischiers name.

  6. The NJ Devils are 7-1-1 in their last 9, are on a 5-game winning streak, have the 2nd best goal differential in the NHL, the 3rd best record in the NHL and are 12 points ahead of the last playoff spot. They are also the 1st team in NHL history to sweep both Eastern & Western Canada and most recently California on road trips. They have a road record of 18-2-1 which would indicate this team is far from inconsistent. With that said I don't think they are cup contenders but are far from "Doomed," as your title indicates, which is laughable. They did go 4-7-2 in the month of December, but that was the only losing streak (6 games) they've had. They now appear to be back to playing more in line with how they were in November. The only team they haven't figured out in the NHL is Boston, but the Bruins are imposing their will on every team in the league right now.

  7. That's a hot take my friend. I don't see it. Their speed , not just skating , at which they make plays and quick break outs from their own end are why they're so effective imo. They're built for the "new" nhl in which speed and skill trumps size and grit. Might not be as dominant in the playoffs but that's another story

  8. Super weak video, no substance. Their losing streak still saw them playing good hockey. I actually watch every Game and it seems clear to me that they are only getting better as the season goes on

  9. I’m not saying it’s possible for them to drop in the standings or to lose in the first round of the playoffs, but to make them sound like an illegitimate team is foolish.

  10. You must be a Ranger fan. Devils have had 1 losing streak and presently are on their second win streak. Jack Hughes is same size as Patrick Kane and Kane has done pretty good in the playoffs. The Devils upgraded on defense and goalie this past offseason. The devils will definitely make playoffs. They are like Colorado, loads of talent and a young team.

  11. Forgot to mention the losing streaks the devils have DOMINATED in many of those losses. More of a fluke than anything. Team is set to dominate the next 10-15 years. I agree they'll lose round one or two tho they're extremely young

  12. Lead by Jack Hughes and Jesper Bratt….that quickly showed this video is garbage lol. Jack and Nico have been carrying our team this season. You're a clown.

  13. We’ve literally outplayed every playoff team this year including the Canes and Bruins and Avs and Rags. All doing so with major/key injuries. Literally the Rags are awful and made a run last year of sheer luck and goaltending. We are much more established then them 😂. Hottest take of the century I believe

  14. Predicting a young team in their 1st real year of legit contenting to have some growing pains really is a hot take. Acting like some kind of visionary or something…….. oooof

  15. The Devils didn't come out of nowhere, this teams advanced stats and analytics last year showed they are a very similar team to last year, the difference is goaltending. We played 6 goalies last year due to injuries, 4 of which were AHL caliber and the goalie with the most wins was Akira Schmid who at the time was not NHL ready. So the team proved they could score and were a fast attacking team, albeit on the smaller side, prone to getting pushed around by heavy hitting teams. This year they have a bona fide goalie in Vanacek, improved the blue line with Marino, have watched both Hischier and Hughes take huge steps in their development, and have learned how to play against those bigger teams and use our speed and attacking style against them. There is definitely more to learn as this is the youngest team in the NHL, but they are coming into their own and have definitely been trending this way to anyone who has been paying attention. December was a rough month but with all those loses there were almost no games they were ever out of and a bit more puck luck that they got during their winning streak could have made that a very different month. So I understand the clickbait title, but just look a little more into a team before you spew inaccuracies and keep an eye on this team as they will most assuredly surprise some people come april.

  16. The average age on the Devils is 24. The average age on the Rangers is 25. So your saying that the youngest team in the NHL(Devils) is more inexperienced than the 5th youngest team in the league (Rangers) and that this is going to be a factor? Then…heck. Don't bet on the Rangers getting past most of the league.

  17. I watched NJ live yesterday in SJ. They do look inexperienced but I do believe they have amazing endurance and will not get worn out. I only see them getting better with experience. They need a few older stars before the playoffs, a few big older stars. They will need some checking ability for the playoffs.
