The Red Wings selected Lucas Raymond with the 4th overall selection in last years draft, but with no training camp or him playing in the AHL or OHL it’s hard to know who this player is or how good he is. Without further ado here is my draft profile on Lucas Raymond.

I think Raymond more like marner. Good vid . Really like the pick . I wanted Raymond from day one
Raymond is playing in the best league in Europe after the KHL. He is playing with first line talent and PP1. Sure you could say that his points are low, but SHL is kinda a low scoring league with just 3-5 players with more than 1 ppg. Just look at Elias Pettersson did in the 2nd division in Sweden his draft year he "only" scored 41 pts in 43 games. In a league where some players do 60+ pts in 40 games. The draft + 1 year he moved to a SHL team and started dominationg scoring 56 pts in 44 games! INSANE numbers. Id say leave Raymond in the SHL one more year let him grow as a player and wait for him to take that one step into point producing in the SHL.
I would much rather have him playing like a star in Sweden than being a bottom 6 in detroit. because i dont think he is ready yet. No need to rush a prospect like Raymond, i think there is a risk of having him getting used to being a "grinder" and then his offensive mindset stops developing. He need to play those important minutes.

The AA comparison is bit lose. Raymond is much much better defensively and better playmaking skills.
