No MVP, franchise, or all star players. Larkin is a very good player, but the wings need more if they want to compete.

It’s eye-opening for sure. Lot of questions need to be answered before we can even begin to think about being a playoff team. I trust Stevie to do his thing but hard to feel extremely confident about where things are headed in the near future.

I’m lowkey nervous that we’ll only be a touch above average when this version of the rebuild is “complete”. I still don’t think we have that game-breaking impact forward that we need to push everyone else into a better slot.

What was seiders preseason status?

I think, aside from a few exceptions, it’s really tough to judge second year players. I don’t feel like Seider’s ranking is wrong based on his play this year, but I feel like sophmore years always mess with a player’s trajectory.
I know this would’ve been a tough call at the time, but I really wanted Quinn Hughes (before Zadina fell). This will haunt me almost as much as the 3-way Quincey trade did.

Larks is in tier 4a (16 players), which starts at #62.
By AAV, the 62nd highest paid player is at $7.9M, with Kadri at $7.0M in tier 4C as the 78th highest paid player.

I see the point but that seems a little generous to Burns, Nurse, and guys like Danault and Hyman.

Is Crosby still that good? I haven’t been paying attention to anybody other than the Wings.

Breaking news: teams that play poorly don’t often have players with a lot of points
Larkin was on a tear to start the season. Then the team’s play steadily went downhill and everyone has struggled to produce. Remember when Kubalik was looking like a top goal scorer? Imagine if the Wings got BETTER after those first few weeks instead of worse.

This should tell everyone Larkin isnt the answer. A 4A tier player cannot be your biggest star to win the cup

This list is painful and makes me pull even harder for the wings to somehow package multiple players together to increase the top end talent.
Some of the younger guys will move up this list, we assume, but the wings are extremely light on talent, especially on defense.

I don’t know if I would put Tim Stutzle above Dylan Larkin and Lucas Raymond but I’ve barely seen Ottawa play against any other team so I suppose I might be off the mark there.

This list tells me we need to draft better, first round seems OK but after that, the less Yzerman is involved the worse it gets. We need Draper to hit the jackpot

This team is a lot further away from being a legit contender than I thought coming into this season

TLDR, do we have anyone on there?
