Just because Scheif made that comment “always feels good to beat the Leafs” last year hardly indicates a rivalry to me. It’s pretty hard to have a rivalry against a team in the other conference because we have so few match ups in the season. Montreal I see more of a rivaly and that’s really only because of the covid playoff series and the Scheifele hit.
I know Wiebe’s gotta make an interesting story – but I really don’t care about the Leafs. I see this more as two teams in their respective conference’s top 3 – it’ll be a good tilt!
