How fucking unprofessional is this? It makes absolutely no sense.
Like, everyone knows he’s gone. The city, the players, the staff. But it’s not even announced, and the upper brass haven’t even talked to him. They’re just silent while all this sadness is going on.
Why even talk about it earlier? Jim and friends let it leak that theyre firing Bruce and bringing in Tocchet, but they just let the games play on and the media go crazy over it and constantly bring it up to the players and staff. Like, just don’t say anything and fire him when you fire him.
It’s just so weird, man. You feel so bad for Bruce and the players.
Absolutely fuck this team. I’ll keep watching for the players because I still care about them, but it’s hard to care when things are being treated this way.
Poor Bruce. God dammit. You don’t do that to someone. He’s such a likable person. This whole thing was painful to watch. If you want to fire him, just fucking be professional and do it.

Honest question: does anyone feel ok, let alone good, about where we’re at right now as an organization? Like I really want to talk myself into some path where we get on the right track, but at this point I just can’t. I’d love to be convinced otherwise though
75 GMs, and Assistant GMs, and Assistant *to* The GMs, and other underlings for Allvin who is himself a puppet for Rutherford, and not one person in the room said hey how about we treat our coach like a fucking human being?
Just so spineless. Very first thing last offseason, Rutherford was whining about Boudreau’s structure, but he still let him start this season as head coach and face all the fire, took potshots the whole time, and then very publicly started looking for his replacement while leaving the poor guy out to dry for weeks.
Benning was an idiot, but at least he seemed a decent guy, too nice if anything. This new upper brass group is full of goddamn ghouls.
I keep glancing over at the video on the screens out at the pub where I’m listening to live music and I can’t hear a word Bruce is saying but he just is holding himself with such grace…I firmly believe he did not deserve what this team has handed him this season, and I think there are some specific notable players who might agree with me based upon the different levels of play we have seen.
It makes me wonder about the level of influence the ownership had on coaching decisions 100%

I can no longer in good faith support this team. I’ve loved this team since my first days on this planet, watching the canucks with my father as a young boy. At 26, I feel the last of my love has been drained from me, and though I wish it were different, I think I’m done.
I don’t wish the best for this team. I hope the whole thing crashes and burns, and the ownership is pushed out of Van.

When we lost the cup finals in 2011, I took a hiatus, and only started watching again when Boeser started playing in 2016. I had some hope that we might turn it around with the new additions of Brock, Hughes, and Petey.
Probably gonna take a hiatus again from this team, and probs won’t be back until we get some new direction or new ownership. It’s been 10 long years of nothing.

Martin did not look solid at all this game. Our goaltending has arguably been our most glaring issue this year.

As if it changed, but tonight 100% solidified not renewing my season tickets. Holy fuck what a shit show. And in case anybody from management is reading, it’s not because we didn’t make playoffs. It’s because there’s no soul in this team and refusal to do the right moves for long term success. Win now mode doesn’t work.
Blues fan here to offer my condolences for Bruce and the awful situation you guys are going through right now. Really hard to watch this all unfold and it’s depressing to think about a guy like Bruce going through it in front of a national audience. Good luck you guys.
In 1998 they traded Linden 2 weeks before my birthday. I didn’t watch the Canucks for 2 years. This will be the second time in my 42 years I won’t stand for this shit.
