If you look at that Atlantic roster they’re right.

All things considered, which Red wings can you objectively make a case for to be All Stars in that group?
The default “1 from each team” got Larkin in. When we say we don’t have any superstars, it also means that we don’t have a legitimate all star on our team.

Ya so?

I miss when all-star games were actually just the all-stars. No pity picks to have each team represented

I get that this subreddit is starting to get rather vocal and whiny about “whole team bad”, but who do you bump.off that list? The Atlantic is a loaded division.

Hronek is probably the only other Red Wing with a case, and that’s optimistic. This is about right, just the way it goes.

Canadian fans clearly dominated the poll. Idont know Jfresh but I see his charts posted sometimes

Who cares, really. Use the time wisely and get healthy if you’re a Red Wing.
Although, I would love to watch this if it wasn’t an all-star game.

On the individual level, I believe we are the least talented team in the league. Just watch how easily other teams handle the puck through traffic. Maybe their systems aren’t as good and that’s why we get more wins than the absolute basement teams, but the Wings are always bobbling the puck and fucking up the basics under the slightest bit of pressure, and shooting it directly into the goalie’s chest. Aside from Larkin, Seider, and Raymond, there’s really no one truly *great* on the team who is consistently competent handling the puck.

Again, the team is playing badly, which means we don’t have guys putting up points. It’s not all about individual skill. If this team could play 60 minute games with consistent structure and score goals like an NHL team, we’d have more players in the All Star conversation.

Although I feel as if Larkin is an All-Star level player there’s no obvious forward in the Atlantic for him to bump so I don’t take issue with him not being included.

No duck, no flame, no king….disgrace

I mean, The Atlantic is STACKED, and we don’t have a true superstar player. Raymond and Seider will hopefully be ASG staples in the future, but neither one of them is there yet.

The one person with some kind of argument is Hronek over Dahlin. That’s it. We weren’t slighted at all, Ottawa ans Montreal not on the list either…

Wait?! Take Thompson didn’t make the all star game?!?

Not concerned about this as they are a couple years away. Future maybe Seider, Raymond or who knows Edvinsson, Cossa make this. For now the only thing I note is there is several teams with more than one. So it is not just getting a player on the top players at a position. It is getting a few players and at a few positions. Top 10 at a couple spots at least. Need time and luck.

Yea I don’t think this should be a surprise to anybody. We have some good players, but not all stars (yet)

That’s because our talent is limited. Our supposed “best player” is, at best, a second line center on a good team.

The Canuck’s have three, look where that’s gotten them

And it’s correct. The Red Wings don’t have anyone better than those on this list.

If Kubalik or Hronek had stayed super hot like they were at the beginning of the season they probably would’ve gotten more votes.
If Raymond had been hotter sooner he might too.
Seider is playing better recently, but again, probably not hot enough early enough to get All Star consideration.
Husso has been good enough to become the bonafide starter, but not good enough to be an All Star.
So it’s not really surprising, IMO.

Can’t disagree with the poll results, I don’t see a single player on the Wings that deserves to be in the ASG over the players on the list from the poll. This team is bad, and they’d be better served being more bad so they acquire some high end talent in the draft, as it stands now we are primed to be the next Minnesota Wild or Nashville Predators, always in the playoff hunt, zero hope of ever contending.
Time to blow it up and restart the rebuild, unfortunate that we will likely get poor returns for Larkin and Bertuzzi.
