2018-2019 Expectations For: Adam Gaudette (Vancouver Canucks Next Season)

Adam Gaudette: college hockey’s best player of 2017-2018. As a 2015 Vancouver Canucks draftee who played five games to end off the Canucks 2018 season, expectations are all over the place going into 2018-2019. What are my expectations for the young two-way centre? The Hobey Baker winner has a lot to look forward to.

Hi. I’m legorocks99Gaming (Otherwise known as “legorocks99,” “LR99Gaming,” or simply “LR99”). An average teenager that posts video game commentaries on YouTube. I’m still very young, and the fact that I make videos on YouTube is pretty much the only difference between myself and the stereotypical teenager. I enjoy making YouTube videos and I hope that you enjoy watching them!

  1. I think Gaudette can expect to have a solid career as a pretty good third line centre. He could even work as a relatively weak second line centre but with the way our centre core is set up, whether it's Pettersson, Dahlén or someone else that steps into that role with Horvat, Gaudette is fine as a top-nine player. Plus he has a good frame for that type of play, and mindset, as you said he's a two-way player. As far as next season, I wouldn't expect anything like the season Boeser had, and that's not just because he had a slow start in his five-game test run. I think Gaudette just isn't built to pile on points in the NHL, which doesn't mean he's not an effective player. I'd be happy with 40-55 points for him next year.

  2. if hes not getting any points hes not going to be in the NHL and who do you think will win the calder

  3. I think we can expect 25-35 points he can be better than what we think hope he pans out! I'm being bold and calling it rn Canucks winning the Pacific and I think Demko going to become number 1 on the goalie depth chart by late December

  4. Gaudette is a solid defensive third liner Center. I’ll compare him with Lars Ellers. He might not put up the points but he is dynamic and can be played in any situation

  5. I expect 20-30 points from Gaudette next year. All depends where he plays though. Could only get 10 points on the 4th line or he could center the second line and end up close to 40

  6. I see Gaudette becoming a cornerstone in the Vancouver lineup for many years. This upcoming season he'll be a beast!

  7. Gaudette reminds me of Ryan Kesler, no in terms of potential but in the way they play and have that swagger about them.

I see the potential to be a solid 2nd line centre like a Derek Stepan. 45-55 point guy, who is a leader.

  8. I’m not from VAN, I live in Boston and got to watch him a bunch, let me tell you this kid is an absolute stud, college hockey has a much higher skill level then the juniors, which explains the lower amounts of points
