  1. Leafs have no goods assets compared to other teams that can also get him.

  2. i want timo meier so bad.
    we want him long term.
we can afford it, our whole team is signed and with muzzin being done, we do have the cap space. plain and simple.and i dont think we need to give up knies…
we have two late 1sts, we have woll, who is about to lose waiver exempt.
we have prospects other than knies the sharks would want.

  3. I have no objection, am asking sincerely, what happened to the complaints about too many high cost forwards ("imbalanced roster")?

  4. They can get all the best players they still won't past first round. Wait…. been waiting a while. Still watch em but have no expectations

  5. SJS don't need to make a deal for Meier. Sure, there are teams who could use him, but he's only an RFA at the end of his deal, so they don't lose him at the end of the season. They're going to trade him to a team that wants to re-sign him to maximize the return, and the Leafs don't have the salary cap space to add another player who's going to command $7.5m+ on a 7-year deal.

  6. If Timo Meier comes in they need to part ways with one of their top players. They need to create cap space for him. He’s only 26 and a stud.

  7. Knies MAY BE a middle 6 guy, from every scouting report I read on him anyways. I'm not just sayin this because I'm a Habs fan, but I think the Leafs media is a overhyping this dude. A middle six guy is def valuable but if you can get Meier… I'd do it. I do believe the Leafs could sign him long term as well because ANY franchise that wants a guy resigned can make it so. It would require getting rid of Muzzin's contract because the LTIR affects how much cap you have in the off season.
