Have to ride the hot goalie. I know Murray was heralded as the starter and mr luggage was a late pick up off fee agency but man, he’s playing too good right now. Lots of former cup winners and bonafide starters are backing up their teams starter now.
What stood out in this game for me was how the Leafs stretched the ice – passes from deep in their end getting to the opposing blue line, and guys using their speed, hands, and strength while fighting off defenders, to score. If only they'd do this a) consistently, and b) in the playoffs. Clearly, they're capable.
Another loss exposing the NYI's complete lack of team speed; they gave up at least FOUR breakaways leading to 3 goals. Sorokin also did not have a great game. Team needs a complete rebuild.
Nylander is one of the best players in the world.

Teams should have the choice of penalty shot or say, 4 minute penalty. If I was a coach I’d take the longer penalty. We see enough penalty shots in o/t and most don’t score.
