The Stars defenders had to respect Tage’s shot so much they let Power sneak down.
The Stars defenders did not, however, respect how good a passer Tage is. They also did not respect the fact that Power actually has a good shot when he wants to let it go.

Exactly what tage needs to keep doing. Hopefully this breaks the seal. As soon as he got the puck, the defender on power stepped to tage. The other defender in front of the goal also started turning to face tage expecting the shot but before he knew it, Owen had already buried the puck.
Teams aren’t gonna stop trying to suffocate tage until he consistently beats them finding the inevitably open man

If Tage doesn’t make that move, it doesn’t create the shooting lane for Power I think most guys would have either passed it right away or circled around the perimeter. Kudos to Tage for taking towards the net there on that move.
