Regardless of what sweater he’s wearing, he’s still our Conn Smythe winner. If trading him gets him a chance to grab some more hardware and us the foundation we need to build for the future….that’s the game.
That said, I’d welcome him back any time if the opportunity presented itself.

Trading your captain is bad luck. I think Senko would be the better option. This season is pretty shaky. Hopefully this is only a rumor.

I think it’s Jersey. They are awash with prospects and need a bit more, particularly to get ahead of Carolina, which also is a possibility. I don’t see Blues trading him West with the possible exception of Seattle. They have some prospects and drafts and also could use a bit more.

Pull the trigger. Him and Tank. No disrespect. I appreciate their service and the Cup they brought home but fuck, if we hang onto these guys to “make noise” in the playoffs as some hockey writer wrote recently then we will be in a full rebuild in the next few seasons. Let’s speed the process up. Tank is worth a 1st. Maybe a garden variety depth player as well but he’s on the back end of his career. ROR is worth a return of a quality young 2-3 line offensive player or a couple second rounders. You can chew me up on how I rate the returns on these trades but we need returns! Letting them walk is insanity.

Ugh. It’s no doubt the smart move, but man, just once I’d like to keep a player whose jersey I have. Pietrangelo, Perron, ROR. I guess I need to stop buying jerseys.
