He’s an RFA without arbitration rights so there’s literally no reason we wouldn’t sign him. The question is just whether it would be a short deal that brings him to UFA or if we try to buy some UFA years.

>They do have some interest in extending Conor Timmins to a contract. He is a pending RFA acquired from Arizona. He has been a nice fit since he came over to Toronto and has been quite productive in his time. We will see if they can get something done there.
Injuries are the only concern here. He was a highly regarded prospect, enough so that he was the reason Arizona chose that package for Kuemper, and that was less than two years ago. He put up great underlying numbers in Colorado and Arizona, and the Coyotes gave up on him too soon cuz of injuries. He’s been fantastic here. If I’m confident of his health, I’m trying to get as long term a deal as possible, and if it lowers the AAV, that might be the right move. He might be willing to take the security given his injury history, and well, it’s sad to say, especially for a guy so young, but if injuries become a major concern on a longer deal, he probably gets to LTIRement soon enough, anyway.

3×1.5Mil. Ends up being Justin Holl’s replacement

You mean to tell me that the Leafs would like to sign and keep their own players? Shocked, I tell you.

Still young with upside, but he can make some pretty brutal mistakes.
His game against Boston exposed him.
Take away his cross-blue line pass, and he still committed 3 major turnovers in that game. Murray bailed him out on a miracle save on Marchand, but Boston scored on one other.
He’s inexperienced, injury-prone, 24 and has much to learn.
He is 6’2 210, with untapped potential though.
At this point, he is a depth defenseman.
No need to be rushing into contract extensions.

This seems smart. He’s definitely played very well since coming here and his analytics have been good every year of his career (granted not a big sample but it spans 3 different teams)
Holl will expire as UFA at 30 and probably get a big raise… a RD that’s played lots of top 4, with solid results, in the Toronto market could legitimately get offers around 20-25 million until he’s about 35. No chance the Leafs bring him back
If you can lock in Timmins to a similar deal that Holl signed originally – maybe like 1.75 X 3 or even less – you set yourself up to get really good value there as a Holl replacement while Sandin/Liljegren need raises

I’d love to see 3 year 2 way contract.

We desperately need to dump Rielly
Vampyr_Luver
Let’s sign him and Samsonov then see what kind of cap space we have for Deadline trades.

Am I seeing posts on $3M for Connor Timmins??? If that is the case Dubas has truly lost it.

1.8 over 2 years to replace Sandin who will be traded imo. Do it up
