Minnesota Wild Return Home in Desperate Need of Wins

On today’s episode of Locked on Wild, we recap a 4-2 loss to Tampa Bay in which the Wild should signs of playing better, and yet still lost for the same reasons they have on the trip and all season overall. We look at the play of both Marc-Andre Fleury to try to keep the Wild in games as long as they can, but under pressure with the lack of 5 on 5 scoring for the Wild recently. We discuss Ryan Hartman getting called out in the postgame by Dean Evason, and ask for accountability for the whole roster if play is not up to where it needs to be. We also once again ask for lineup tweaks, and finish the episode by looking at the recent numbers for both Jesper Wallstedt and Marco Rossi.

  1. ANY trade offer for Hartman, Dumba, and Greenway is a great offer and you take it. If you can move those do-nothing players then you can bring up Walker and Rossi (or Beckman) and let them learn on the fly, much like Boldy, these following 2 seasons in the hopes that develop into solid NHL 2nd liners. This roster is NOWHERE near a Cup contender and potentially not even a playoff team. Let's give the kids some invaluable experience so when the Parise/Suter contracts, not buyouts, come off the books they are ready.
Agreed Seth, Fluery played well ๐Ÿ‘ The Wild are one of the worst 5 on 5 teams in the league.
    Cheers!

  2. While I agree wholeheartedly maybe, just maybe you slide Hartman up with 97/36 and see if he can grab back his game. Itโ€™s complete reverse psychology but Steel is not finishing and why not at this point. I do know I wanted to reach through my television and kill him myself but this road trip was atrocious. If he struggles, even if he has a team friendly contract, maybe we move him. Crazy and Iโ€™m going to get some crap but anyone who has played knows sometimes the harder you play the worse it gets leading to frustration. The winning goal off of him was terrible, the penalty was inexcusable. Itโ€™s beyond Hartman though, as teams are zeroing in on 97 and someone else besides 97/ Boldy/Spurgeon needs to step up as we are pretty easy to shut down.
Love you covering the Iowa Wild. Rossi is a top 6 and could easily come up but they want him as a C1/C2 – period. I still feel we will be OK, sliding this quickly can also lead to us rising this quickly. There is a lot of pride in that room, and last night I though they deserved the W. If they play like they did last night, weโ€™ll be 10-15 games above .500.

  3. Everson needs to change lines
    Boldy needs speed
Steel is not a number one center
    Give Connor Dewar a chance

  4. Stick to the plan. When the buyouts were made, there had to be a list of things you wouldnโ€™t/couldnโ€™t do. 2 things you better focus on, get Boldy a new Fiala, have someone in place kirill likes to play with b4 his contract is up.

  5. Walker, Rossi, and Beckman have been on fire down in the A, if the Wild can make some space through trades Iโ€™d think they deserve another shot in the NHL. Wild could really use Walker and Rossiโ€™s playmaking and Beckmanโ€™s shooting bc rn the offense is terrible. They havenโ€™t been able to sustain pressure or cash in on their chances they create. Hartman and Greenway have been terrible and Steel just isnโ€™t a 1c. Not saying these moves get the Wild into the playoffs, but getting guys with the skill sets the Wild need some experience can only be a good thing.
