Interesting notes coming out of the Montreal Canadiens YouTube channel, in their video of Marc Bergevin mic’d up during the 2019 NHL Entry Draft. Overall it’s a funny video, but the Habs ended up actually denying a trade proposal from the Vegas Golden Knights. Eventually, the Canadiens ended up drafting their best prospect Cole Caufield, but it’s an interesting thing to look at.

I've always wonder why you use nhl gameplay for your videos? is it because you don't want to deal with owning right of video highlights or?

Did you see when they blurred the guy walking in the background? People think the guy had no pants on lol.
Before the Knights' offer, Bergevin said "we're picking" 3 times so I don't think the Knight's offer was taken seriously. After Arizona's pick, with 3 more teams to pick, there's still 3 names available on Bergevin’s handwritten list: Krebs(6), Boldy(7) and Caufield(10) so they « need help » from FLA… Minny take Boldy(7), FLA take "the goaly" and Bergevin says "we're picking". After it's interesting because Phily choose York and with 2 names still on the list, Krebs(6) & Caufield(10), Bergevin, Timmins and Shurla decide to go for Caufield(10) instead of Krebs(6) "we need goals!" (Shane Shurla) and then HISTORY IS MADE.
Additional information: I took a screenshot of Bergevin's handwritten list and enlarged it, here is the result. 1 to 11 ends with Seider. Then some unreadable words. Then 12-Cozens 13-Broberg 14-unreadable name 15-Kaliev. Then what has not been published is the right side of the sheet: some unreadable words that ends with the number 23. List 1-Newhook 2-Thomson 3-Heinola 4-Harley 5-Soderstrom 6-unreadable name 7-York 8-Poulin / it seems to me that this is a fallback list to move back if the players from 1 to 11 were no longer available at the Habs 15th slot.
That Vegas deal was horrible think about it this way Vegas wanted Montreal to give up caufield for a 3’rd round pick
