  1. I trusted Stevie taking Cossa but my gut told me that was a big mistake Jesper should have been the choice🤷‍♂ I was actually more surprised he fell right into the Oilers lap and Holland didn't take him.

  2. Lol little early to be praising this guy he’s not in the NHL yet, oilers have Skinner we had no reason to draft him. Bourgault looks to be a top6 nhl forward and muzzenbuger is tracking well. At the time I was mad but looking back now I’m fine with it lol.

  3. The choice of Cossa over Wallstedt could be the first mistake of Steve Y's tenure in Detroit – however I do think it's still too early to make that judgement and goalies are voodoo don't forget. This one should be reviewed in 3 or 4 years time I think.

  4. The Tyler Boucher could be justified as it would fill a need if he develops properly as a very solid depth forward, but to skip on Wallstedt, I dunno. I think this trade will work out as pairing Boucher with Grieg would be absolute chaos, and maybe paired with Sokolov could be dynamic, time will tell. Too early to predict anything from a draft not even 2 years ago.

  5. I watched Cossa play a few weeks ago at Kalamazoo wings stadium…….not impressive at all! He also seemed uninterested imo.

  6. Obviously not an expert in sports medicine. The only concern as a Wild fan is that he seems to get hurt for a month at a time for the last few years. That might be somewhat normal for goalies, I don't know, but if health isn't a problem going forward, he looks great.

  7. I'm surprised Yzerman didn't take Wallstedt considering he was a Swede playing in the SHL at the time of the draft, but it's not exactly difficult to understand why he took a gamble on Cossa. He's 6'6 and exceptionally athletic, two traits that can't exactly be taught. Any of the other flaws in his game can easily be worked on through development, so his theoretical ceiling is pretty high if he's developed properly. He's also got great character and supreme confidence, so he's definitely coachable. That said, he's at least another 2-3 years out from being an NHL-level goaltender, whereas I can see Jesper making the jump as early as next year if he continues to improve. These two will be compared for the rest of their careers assuming they both become NHL-level starters.

  8. Oilers passed on him because they had Skinner and knew he was good… ALL STAR Skinner proved them right.

  9. That's the Guenther draft. And if we're talking about the Sens 'flubbing' it with Boucher, but with that player though, it didn't help him to go to Boston. But if we're talking about Guenther, 15 points in 32 games as an Arizona Coyote. Go figure. Maybe Vancouver trades Poolman to Vegas to clear bad debt with a draft pick?

  10. Xavier Bourgault best be a difference maker for the Oilers next season, otherwise this is an epic fail.

  11. So basically the whole point of this is to trash the Oilers…well done. 12 minutes I’ll never get back

  12. Im a Iowa wild fan and been to all home games and his game is definitely impressive but you also got to acknowledge the team defense as well.
