Jakub Vrana Making Conditioning Progress in Grand Rapids – What Does His Future Hold?

Jakub Vrana was assigned to the Grand Rapids Griffins by the Detroit Red Wings for conditioning. Clearing waivers and being able to get a decent footing, Vrana seems to be making physical strides but is mentally battling.
Following a post-game interview with did with Vrana, we decided to take a look at this stint in Grand Rapids so far and how his conditioning has been coming along. With the trade deadline coming up and the team as a whole struggling at the AHL level, Vrana is in a tight spot and needs to make a big push.
Here is our quick update on Vrana and what his future may hold following this assignment.

  1. Vrana has left people excited, confused, and wondering about his future. I am hoping he finds his game again and makes some sort of impact whether it be in GR, Detroit or even somewhere else as a trade. I hope he continues to handle whatever caused him to enter players assistance in the healthiest way possible even if that means retiring, it would be sad to see him go but there are more important things than hockey. I appreciate the update and look forward to your next video. Cheerz

  2. Thanks for the update! Pulling for the guy. Hopefully he gets back on track with everything. So the synopsis here is: Vrana is learning to flush his toilet. 🙂

  3. Thanks for the update! Don't get to catch much from the Griffins so it's nice to have some info about Vrana. Based on what you've seen, do you guys think he will be back? I'm guessing not with our current rosters pack (given we avoid more injury) we won't.

I'm also curious how Edvinsson's looked and how Soderblom has been adapting since returning to Grand Rapids.

    Thanks for the great content!

  4. From an amateur psychologist without a clue: I think Vrana may have lost / had to give up some things and/or habits that helped him deal with life and he's adjusting to their absence. It may take time, probably will, but the man is still there and with the proper support I expect to see him rocking the NHL world again. Hope it's with us!!!
