  1. Islanders gave up little for this player, who they will resign. This reminds me of years ago when Lou traded for Ilya 17 for the Devils, gave up nothing for him, and he helped the Devis get to the Stanley Cup finals. Win-Win for the Islanders.

  2. He becomes a UFA after this year, right? Islanders might not even make the playoffs. I don't like their chances of re-signing him.

  3. Bo Horvat has done an amazing job promoting himself, by producing and scoring more this year, than his previous years.

  4. Horvat with a wwe heel turn at the all star game by firing at his own net for the winner 😂😂if only nhl all star game had playoff finals home ice advantage like the mlb all star game used to .

  5. I wish Bo all the best with the Islanders, Treat him well Islanders! He busted his ass everyday he was here in Vancouver. We'll miss you Captain, My captain.

  6. Is that actually how he pronounces “Raty” or did the letter “Y” randomly start being pronounced “oo”

  7. Like the Keenan/Messier era, you have a coach who’s only coached parts of 2 seasons and got fired around the All-Star game (Keenan, Boudreau) and was replaced by someone who’s won before (Crawford, Tocchet),

and a beloved captain who was traded to the Islanders (Linden, Horvat)

all done by management/ownership who is hated by the fans (Keenan, Rutherford), (McCaw, Aquilinni).

The difference is that we actually liked the coach and captain.

  8. bo will be very happy in new york, they've got a heck of a blm chapter there. he'll fit right in.

  9. I hope Bo doesn’t stay. Islanders are trending backwards and I hope a contender finds a need for a 2nd line centre at Bo’s calibre. Hurricanes or Aves come to mind

  10. Interesting to call Vancouver hockey fans the "toughest in the world". We've had almost a decade of "retool" on the fly, when an actual rebuild was needed as Gillis wanted in 2014… Ownership meddling, Benning regime with mixed messages, doctoral/medical issues, Linden stepping down, Boudreau's treatment, etc etc etc.. If this nonsense was taking place in cities like Toronto or Montreal, the fan resentment would be just as bad – if not worse.

  11. If Bo is smart, and I know he is. He’ll hit the open market whether there’s another trade before the deadline. I believe he covets winning over a payday. I think he signs to play with a winner, forsaking huge money.

  12. No chance he resigns with the Isles , nobody goes there by choice and he has no ties there and I’d rather we get a mid teen pick in this deep draft

  13. I assume he will sign there. Players come and go but it’s going to be especially hard to see him in another uniform.

  14. It's never been said, but I see all indications showing Horvat told the team, it didn't matter what they offered him, he was walking. Both, to test the market & get his money, AND, being fed up with the ownership / management carousal in Vancouver. Sadly; would have preferred them signing Bo over Miller, but that may not have even been an option, and would explain the Miller signing. Either way, a sad season for Vancouver fans just got sadder…

  15. Anyone who knows Lou, knows he does not make this trade unless they already have a handshake deal for Bo to sign long term…we got the $$ and Lou always signs former Captains to isles (parise, palmieri, chara greene etc)

  16. Why in the world would Rutherford do this ho-hum deal now? What was the rush? If the Islanders are not playoff contenders before the trade deadline. They can flip his contract to a real contender.
