Numerous NHL teams have been advertising and hosting their pride celebrations over the month of January. The NHL experienced some resistance when Ivan Provorov from the Philadelphia Flyers quietly refused to participate…and it seems this sentiment has spread to New York City.
We react to the entire New York Rangers roster refusing to wear the NHL pride jerseys. We discuss the overreaction and fake outrage in the mainstream media…by disputing an article in The Athletic which claims this is a step backwards for the NHL.

Politics should be kept out of professional sport. Making pride jerseys is just a cheap PR stunt. It’s an empty gesture that doesn’t really support LGBT in any material way. The league just wants to appear virtuous. It isn’t.
