This season’s been fun so far! I can’t wait to see what the deadline brings and how Luke Hughes starts off (the AGM said they’d like him here when Michigan’s season is done).
One thing that should be mentioned is that Nico, Jack Hughes, and Dougie were all missing significant amounts of time the previous season. They were overperforming towards the start of the season, and then fell off after those 3 went down.
The Vitek can definitely carry the Devils in the playoffs
I don't understand how you can say Haula is having a solid season. The guy has played most of the season with Jack Hughes and has FOUR goals! Five if you count the own goal from the game against Dallas. He tries hard but the guy couldn't score in a brothel.
Can’t forgot about John Marino on IR. When we gets back it’ll be a power house on defense.
Maybe it's just because their last couple weeks hasn't been that stellar and this is the first chance I've had to see a few of their games, but they just don't seem to have any punch unless Hughes is on the ice. Please, Jersey fans, I don't need to be reminded that they're 8-1-1 in their last 10. The reality is that they are 0-1-5 in regulation the last two weeks.
if we're going off of historical precedent, I forsee Detroit going undefeated from the all-star break to the end of the season and then winning the cup. Since every other time the avs won it Detroit won the year after. SHUT UP IT MAKES TOTAL SENSE!!!
Haula has been solid? If he were bottom 6 I'd agree but he's been a ball and chain on hughes' wing all season

I'll be honest, I don't think the Devils are going to go far in the playoffs.
They're just too inexperienced, of the current roster, 9 have playoff experience, and 4 of those 9 are from that fluke year in 2018. So in reality, only 5 on the current roster have any real playoff experience. Thats simply not enough, and as we all know, the playoffs are a completely different beast from the regular season.
Patrick Kane would be a good fit for New Jersey put him on Hughes wing

I’m not a Devils fan exactly. but found myself watching a lot of games in the last half of last season and became a guy that’s rooted for them and am a fan of number of players with NJD. So glad to see the young squad rising from the rebuild like this and wow, they’ve been awesome!

Possibly adding Meier, and adding Luke Hughes at the end of Michigan’s season could make them a giant pain come playoff time

As A devils fan, I was not expecting a good year. Was not expecting to even make it to the playoffs. Would love to see us bring the cup home again, but realistically, I am happy with getting past the 1st round. lol

This years Devils remind me of the early resurgent Leafs right after they drafted Matthews. They're seeing shocking levels of success from a relatively untested team, and I do fully expect that to fall apart on them in the playoffs. In the first round I would expect to see some fairly low-scoring games being the decided winner here, unless they face some other relatively untested squad like the Sabres somehow.

How do you feel about the fact that they keep needing to come from behind to win? It’s great to be able to, but I can’t imagine that it’s healthy or sustainable long term

I believe we have 16 comeback wins are 11-0-1 against the Pacific Division this year! Also we have swept all of Canada this year on the road, did a full sweep of Cali teams etc.
It’s just the tip of the iceberg with all the talent coming up, this team will be really dangerous in 2/3 years times.

They are for real but struggling as play gets more physical. I think they'll pull it together with a big addition and some time to rest. The good news is they win even when playing poorly. In other words, they can score goals. If they trade for a good partner for Hughes, and the bottom six start producing more, they could make a run at the cup.
