Olivier won’t exit the lineup. He isn’t there to score points. Foudy/Bemstrom would be more likely to sit.
Pederson played almost exclusively 3rd/4th line in San Jose and Arizona and the numbers indicate that.
In Vancouver he got a few looks with Pettersson and Kuzmenko and played pretty well.
In the AHL he was teammates with Bunting, Garland, and Hudson Fasching for some time. He was on pretty equal footing with those guys except for maybe his first season.
I chalk up his struggles sticking somewhere to him not really fitting as a checking line forward and being on the bubble as a scoring line type guy in the NHL. He’s not bad defensively, he’s just not a checking line guy. He hasn’t gotten the chances Garland and Bunting have gotten except the short stints on Vancouver’s first line. If he gets a shot like that in Columbus, maybe he sticks. If they use him primarily as a checker he will be probably be packing his bags again.
Does Columbus give up anything for Pederson?
