Almost three decades to get out of the first round and then fire the head coach. Seems to be working out well……………………..
Florida is especially hopeful they make the playoffs because they don't have a first-round pick this year. It would really suck to see the pick you traded win the draft lottery.

Ekblad as MVP lol…clearly he has been playing injured for most of the season. Has no turning speed at all.
To make the playoffs for sure, a team needs something like 98 points. A team can make playoffs with like 92 points, but this is where it would have to rely on their opponents being gracious. So, let's take 98 as a goal.
Florida has 54 points for now with 30 games to go. So, it's 44 points in 30 games. It's about the pace Canes are doing so far. It's, like, 20-6-4.
So, I don't feel like math works here. OK, with some help, it might be just 38 points in 30 games that they'd need. But that's still a pace of Rangers. That's better than almost any team in the West is doing so far.

Barkov and Tkachuk are having a stellar season, but I don’t think they’ll make the playoffs with the Eastern Conf. being so stacked.

Would like to see Florida make a run after the break and get a playoff spot… But it doesn’t look good. The last few games I watched were tough. Some great comeback attempts late but overall just tough losses and up and down play in games I’ve seen this year. Still can’t make sense of the Maurice hire yet unless they make a run, make the playoffs and the difference is seen there… maybe? Idk.
Duclair has not made his season debut, important top-6 forward (although they don't have cap space to activate him even if he was healthy right now?)

The main thing with the Panthers this season is inconsistency. They have not won three games in a row all season but haven't been on a massive losing streak either. You never know what team will show up on a given night. The one who lost to Arizona or Chicago or the one who beat the Bruins twice? They have looked better overall as of late despite having some key injuries. It'll be interesting to see if they can make a run after the break and snag a Wild Card spot. They are certainly capable to do so on paper. Especially with a healthier roster, but do they have the will and effort to do so? Time will tell.
No playoffs for Florida. The competition is too fierce in the East.
First 20 games i said marc staal is on the ice for nearly every goal going to own net. After that ekblad came back from injury and took the cape of sucking and is hurting the team when he is on ice. So there is a upside that ekblad can play better, wich leaves me with no one to blame and therefor panthers become unstoppable.
Does duclair go straight to top 2 lines or maybe to third to feel things out first?
How’s that trade working out, and dropping Brunette for Maurice? Improving on last season’s record, or sustaining that pace are we? Are we, are we? 🧐
